Abraham Lincoln is reinvented as a vampire-killing president in this Timur Bekmambetov-directed action picture starring Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rufus Sewell, and Dominic Cooper. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith adapts his own book for 20th Century Fox. Tim Burton produces alongside Bekmambetov and Jim Lemley. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi
Creative concept, or twist on a vampire plot. But, Lincoln performing martial arts with an axe? Lincoln alone takes out 9 or so vicious vampires while the maker stands by and watches? Not realistic from THAT stand point. Some of the action was so tricked out it took away from the pleasure. It's an okay film to rent on a night when there's nothing else to watch.
A comic book/video game type of story with standard visual FX and action -- okay enough but the politically correct, ill liberal revisionist history is utter nonsense! I can suspend my disbelief for the sake of movie going fun but the idea for this story is complete piffle! A fair cast and production with decent make up FX but overall, not a must see. This film should have stayed a video game or comic book series not seen life as a full feature film. 20th Century Fox missed the mark on green lighting this one. A cross of "Van Helsing" meets "League of Extraordinary Gentleman" but not quite as entertaining. Pass the garlic!
My Grade: D+

I don't write reviews often but this movie surprised me. It turned out to be a pretty decent movie! Some ppl read too much into the historical story line...Its just a movie and it was entertaining! Mission accomplished!
I enjoyed this movie as I am a huge vampire movies. I thought it was another stupid vampire movie that was not acted well. But I'm surprised that it wasn't. It will make you watch until the end. Go see it for yourself.
HORRENDOUS! I gave it a chance despite the premise and I regretted it. The action sequences are pretty cool but as far as positives go for this movie, that's about it. The plot is just so bad. Skip this one.
My family which includes 3 teens WE loved this movie. We were NOT expecting this to be about history, and politics, and so we were not let down. This was an action packed thrilling movie packed with plenty of "WHOA" moments. We ended the movie appreciating the irony in the movie and thinking a lot of "what if" questions. This was a great action movie!
