When a young Caucasian military man is thrown into an all African-American barracks for punishment, he slowly earns the respect of his peers while they all are forced to contend with the prejudicial acts of a racist sergeant. Charlie Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, Martin Sheen (who also directed) and others appear in this well-intentioned drama. ~ Kristie Hassen, Rovi

I also disagree with Sha...This is not some "africana culture" movie. It has nothing to do with "one particular" race. It's about knowing who you are, becoming a better person and not letting anyone or anything stand in your way of doing so. It's about acceptance.... It's about looking beyond the color of a person skin and getting to know the "inner man". I didnt think I would like this movie because I thought it was "a man's man" movie, but I did. . . I am not a big Charlie Sheen fan but his character was likeable. Martin Sheen's character was a racist and for a while I hated his character but toward the end I started to feel sorry for him. This movie made me laugh and cry. I will rank this a must see.

Not Martin Sheen's best performance. Overacting ran rampant in this film and it tended to be a little slow.

Disagree with reviewer "sha" - not a "black culture" film at all - little or nothing to do with race - just a good story with humor and heart. See it - You won't regret it!

THOROUGHLY enjoyed this movie! First-rate performances and a satisfying story round out this semi-unknown gem. As it started out, I thought "oh, here we go with a cliche-filled 'prison drama' with a military twist." It just kept getting better. It was a genuine pleasure to watch "2 Sheens on the screen", and the fine Fishburne portrayal.

Was an interesting story. Shows how men from totally different backrounds, can grow to respect each other.

I loved this movie from the beginning to the end. Charlie Sheen played a great part. Lawrence Fishbourne outdid himself, not to mention Martin Sheen! I give it the 5 star rating!

a must see film in black cinema or those interested in africana culture. early charlie sheen (like he's so friggin HOT, like yum) early lawrence fishbourne. the film is about this soldier put in this "army jail" and finds he is the only white among the all black prisoners. he develops a friendship with all of them, and the white sergent, strangely attached to the white soldier b/c of the lack of presence of his own son in his life, becomes so insanely jelous that he literally does go insane. rather disappointed there was no special features: director comments, etc.
