Two top CIA spies (Star Trek's Chris Pine and Inception's Tom Hardy) find their enduring friendship put to the ultimate test when they engage in an all-out war to win the affections of a beautiful woman (Reese Witherspoon). Chelsea Handler and Til Schweiger co-star in a comedy co-written by Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes) and Timothy Dowling (Role Models) and directed by McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Salvation). ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I enjoyed the movie because I decided I was not going to have high expectations of it more than cheesy, corny, predictable, cute fun and the opportunity to see Reese Whitherspoon. I actually ended up enjoying it - despite its many implausibilities and silly situations. A young lady who usually falls asleep through my usual pick of movies (spy, drama, thriller, action, etc.) actually stayed awake and enjoyed it immensely. It is great fun as entertainment, a waste of time if you're seeking some moving drama or true to life moving experience.
I only watched this for Tom Hardy..but even his character and acting was below par..Witherspoon is just more than irritating for me..she is trying to act not an actress. Chris Pine ws just ok i guess...i did watch it to end to see what they would do with story...:( good grief
I really like Reese W. but this movie was awful. No chemistry between the characters at all. The spying on her did not make me feel very good. Something creepy there. Boring, not funny. A waste of time. I shut it off half way through.
This movie has appeal to all genders and sexual orientations. There's action for the guys, romance for the ladies, and humor for everyone. Those attracted to women will like Reese Witherspoon, and those attracted to guys to Chris Pine. It's well-acted and well-edited. Any adult or mature teen would enjoy this movie.
