The Hangover's Todd Phillips produces this outrageous comedy from writers Matt Drake and Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), which follows three undistinguished high-school students who attempt to achieve popularity by throwing the ultimate party. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I work at a movie theater. And when this first came out it was packed. I walked in and seen parts and the parts i seen was hella funny (we had mad problems with under age teens trying to get in). I say if you are under age you shouldn't watch this movie. But i totally like this movie.
My guess is if this movie had come out when I was about 14-16, this is what I would aspire to work towards as a high school goal. This level of partying I mean. But being 33, this movie just seems over the top and ridiculous. I'll take Dazed and Confused and Fast Times any day over this mind numbing "game-changer."
Lady parts, beer, and nut-punching, Project X is all about the wildest party. There's a bit of a story to follow along with. It's not much of one, but you will laugh along with all the crazy shenanigans. Besides that it's not much of anything else.
A sad modern day attempt to recreate the Animal House / Super Bad genre...and they failed. A complete waste of my time. Hated it! Not even mildly interesting.
If you want to know why it isn't a good idea to leave your teenager home alone for the weekend, then watch this film. Yeah, some of it is funny. But if you have seen the destructiveness of this type of behavior first hand the joke gets stale pretty quick. No, it's not really funny to destroy someone's house and half the neighborhood. Grow up, then destroy your own property if you so choose.
