The Escapist director Rupert Wyatt takes the helm for this Planet of the Apes prequel centering on genetically engineered chimp Caesar (Andy Serkis), who was created in a San Francisco lab by an ambitious scientist (James Franco), and who uses his powerful intellect to lead an ape uprising against all of humankind. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
This was one of my all time favorite movies! The story line was brilliant and clear all the way up to the fabulous ending. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of the Planet of the Apes movies.
Was a dark movie, intense, dramatic.
Lessons to be learned--never underestimate your enemy.
Shows quite an anatomy of the whole process of revenge.
The way the apes are portrayed with such human feelings and thoughts, it shows this is more about the human condition than about animals.
Opens your eyes to see how far human beings can slide and how out of control things can become when we start going down the wrong path,. Good reality check--sobering.
Very good movie and gives you an understanding of how the apes took over. I did expect a different ending. I thought the apes would take over by the end, but the ending just kind of left them out in the redwoods park. Over all, it was good special effects, good acting, good script. I don't think it was excellent but it is definitely worth the watch.
