Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy concludes with this Warner Brothers release that finds The Dark Knight pitted against Bane, an unstoppable foe possessed of tremendous physical and intellectual strength. Nearly a decade after taking the fall for Harvey Dent's death and disappearing into the darkness, a fugitive Batman (Christian Bale) watches from the shadows as the Dent Act keeps the streets of Gotham City free of crime. Meanwhile, an elusive cat burglar seizes the chance to strike, and a masked anarchist plots a devastating series of attacks designed to lure Bruce Wayne out of the shadows. Determined not to abandon the people who he once risked his life to protect, The Dark Knight emerges from his self-imposed exile ready to fight. But Bane (Tom Hardy) is ready, too, and once Batman is within his grasp, he will do everything in his power to break Gotham City's shadowy savior. Oscar-winner Michael Caine and Gary Oldman return in a sequel also starring Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I am neither a Batman nor action film groupie. There are many I do enjoy very much. For the most part this movie is very well put together. The great cast with excellent portrayals of the characters (Anne Hathaway is especially noteworthy), the sets, directing, special effects, score, cinematography etc etc. However, the one problem I had with it is the script. I have seen all the Batman movies of late and I must say I found it a bit difficult to follow the story line.I find this writing technique common in many movies made in the U.S. and I don't understand the need for it other than to possibly cover up a weak storyline. This is a major flaw in an otherwise excellently produced film.

Even if you're not a fan of the Batman movies you should be able to enjoy this movie. The special effects, the music, the sets are just tremendous.

Best one of them all... fleshed out characters, more back story, more development... plenty of action and fun stuff, some of it tongue in cheek, but a fast moving plot and great job.

A bit long for me but well done and well put together, Ann Hathaway as Cat woman keeps this movie from being a snoozer.

Overstuffed, overdone and 45 minutes too long. I kept waiting for it to get better, never did.

I found this third and last installment to Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy to be the best one out of all three. I loved Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, but The Dark Knight Rises was insanely intense and action packed. The plot was well put together and the characters were well brought out together and developed. Christain Bale is the best Batman ever, and the rest of the cast were shockingly amazing, Especially Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. The Ending of this movie is well worth the wait of the long running time of this movie, but even with that said the whole movie is well worth to see, if not a must see for everyone. Trust me you don't want to miss this one, i believe it deserves an Oscar for its hard hitting and touching plot.

It's enjoyable enough for its runtime, but mostly forgettable. In general, it seemed overstuffed, overdone, and too long. Although there's plenty of action and closure to the Batman legacy, I rate it as the weakest installment of the trilogy.

The third and final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy whips by, even at 2:45 min, because it is very intense, with lots of action and a sad and satisfying ending. AH steals the show as Catwoman. As Siskel and Ebert used to say....two BIG thumbs up!
