Amanda Seyfried stars in this dark retelling of the classic Little Red Riding Hood fable, set in a medieval village where a werewolf has been terrorizing the citizens. Though the night has become a more and more dangerous time for the villagers, who never know when the beast will leave more bodies strewn in its wake, Valerie is a girl on the brink of womanhood, and is so preoccupied with her love and lust for an orphaned woodcutter that she risks leaving herself vulnerable -- both literally and figuratively. Meanwhile, the townspeople hire a werewolf hunter (Gary Oldman) to track down the monster and kill it before it wreaks more bloody havoc. But as suspicions brew, the people of the once peaceful town begin to turn on each other, letting the innocence of their formerly happy community fall further and further into the past. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I love this movie! Being as Catherine Hardwicke directed my favorite movie of all time, "Twilight," I knew this was gonna be good. This movie actually reminded me more of M. Night Shyamalayan's "The Village," only with more romance and better scenery. Amanda Seyfried is a very talented young actress and Billy Burke really proved himself as an actor in this film being as he had a larger role than in the Twilight movies. The PG13 rating kept the blood to a minimum which is a good thing in my opinion. This will definitely be one of my all-time favorite movies and a must own for my Blu-ray collection. I'm gonna go buy the book now!

Honestly, this movie equals twilight, but worse (crazy brooding boy hair and all). I was pretty disappointed as I had high expectations going in since the premise had alot of potential. Not awful, but definitely not very good.

This is an far-fetched fairy tale for kids, but is so bad and the story line so awful that even the little ones shouldn't have to bear this. This movie was made to draw teenagers, but even youths should not waste their money.

This was a good movie overall. I don't really see how everyone is comparing it to Twilight, besides a love triangle. But, it was very well done and the acting is great.

I liked this remake of the classic fairy tale. It kept me guessing throughout the film. Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors and he wasn't in the movie nearly long enough.

Meh...this is for the Twilight crowd only, didn't make it past the 30 minutes. So disappointed in Gary Oldman for lending his name to this movie. Shame.

Red Riding Hood is not the tail we all grow-up telling. It is a story of a werewolf hunter. Gary Oldman plays the wolf hunter in the village that is stalking the villagers. It takes place with-in the walls of a medieval village. Rated P-G.13 would appeal to teenage girls 13 yr's of age and up. Good movie for the rest of us. Good acting and very scary . I will put this on my must own DVD list.
