Amanda Seyfried stars in this dark retelling of the classic Little Red Riding Hood fable, set in a medieval village where a werewolf has been terrorizing the citizens. Though the night has become a more and more dangerous time for the villagers, who never know when the beast will leave more bodies strewn in its wake, Valerie is a girl on the brink of womanhood, and is so preoccupied with her love and lust for an orphaned woodcutter that she risks leaving herself vulnerable -- both literally and figuratively. Meanwhile, the townspeople hire a werewolf hunter (Gary Oldman) to track down the monster and kill it before it wreaks more bloody havoc. But as suspicions brew, the people of the once peaceful town begin to turn on each other, letting the innocence of their formerly happy community fall further and further into the past. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Minus a couple big names, ie; Amanda Seyfried and Gary Oldman, this really should've been a made-for-TV-movie. Wouldn't even have Que'd it had I known it was remotely related to anything Twilight (Director, Catherine Hardwicke). All style and near zero substance and let's not even mention the dialogue. George Lucas writes deeper material (read that again)! And explain to me the fascination with the rock-music-type soundtrack on what are somewhat "period" pieces? The backdrops do look like Bob Ross paintings turned CGI, so there was that.

Meh...this is for the Twilight crowd only, didn't make it past the 30 minutes. So disappointed in Gary Oldman for lending his name to this movie. Shame.

Always in search of a good werewolf movie...and still searching. There is little connection much less allusion to the fairy tale. Aside from that, the movie is slow and tries to shock with twists that just aren't shocking.

This was a good movie overall. I don't really see how everyone is comparing it to Twilight, besides a love triangle. But, it was very well done and the acting is great.

Great cast and presentation of the fable in a dramatic storyline. The photography was fantastic and the cast good, but the movie was not quite as spectacular as it could have been - not sure why. I did enjoy this film and would even watch it again.

a bit suspensful yet slow at times. Special effects were good and Amanda Seyfried did a good job just expected it to be a bit more scary.

This is an far-fetched fairy tale for kids, but is so bad and the story line so awful that even the little ones shouldn't have to bear this. This movie was made to draw teenagers, but even youths should not waste their money.

I liked this remake of the classic fairy tale. It kept me guessing throughout the film. Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors and he wasn't in the movie nearly long enough.
