Director Paul Feig and producer Judd Apatow team up again for this comedy that stars Kristen Wiig as Annie, a romantically unattached failed bakery owner who fears she's losing her BFF, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), the best thing in her life, when Lillian announces she's gotten engaged. Annie's anxieties deepen as Lillian grows close to Helen (Rose Byrne), a wealthy and beautiful new friend who quickly assumes control of planning all the pre-wedding festivities. On top of the main storyline of a female friendship being torn apart, the movie adds a romantic storyline for Annie, who starts the film answering a booty call from the casually cruel yet undeniably handsome Ted (Jon Hamm), but develops a lovely flirtation with an Irish cop named Rhodes (Chris O'Dowd) after he pulls Annie over one night thinking she's driving drunk. As the low-self-esteem Annie sabotages this new possibility for love, she also feels the most important friendship in her life slipping away. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
For what it is, this is a funny movie. It's a movie just to be enjoyed. Probably, one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. One shouldn't try to make more of this movie than what it is; just enjoy it.... scenes will stay with you.
This is such a funny Movie. I watched it 4 times .I had to really clean the disc. When I received it the disc was unplayable and looked scratched.I pop it in my dvd/cd cleaner and walla just like new.
Definitely didn't live up to the hype. This was NOT a female "The Hangover". In fact, it was pretty boring most of the time. There were a few good laughs, but not many. I'd skip it.
This disc has previews before the main feature. Most DVD's with previews allow the end user to either fast-forward through the previews or to skip them. This disc allows the user to do neither. You have to sit though the previews. The reason I use DVD's is that I don't have to sit through commercials. Presumably. The marketers at Universal have another idea about that. Apparently they feel that they must force-feed their previews to viewers. For that I am giving this a one-star.
As for the movie itself, it doesn't deserve much better. The plot meanders with no discernable direction. I found it uninteresting.
not funny, although they tried to make the foul-mouth, foul-situations funny. ultimately it's a movie for early teenage girls dreaming of marriage, except it's so disgustingly foul that they shouldn't be watching it anyway. don't miss the diarrhea in the sink scene girls!! what a colossal waste of time.
