A married father and a swinging single swap bodies after a wild night of drinking, and do their best not to throw each other's lives into complete chaos while scrambling to figure out a way to get back in their own skin. Dave (Jason Bateman) and Mitch (Ryan Reynolds) grew up together. They used to be inseparable, but these days they're lucky if they cross paths every few months. Dave is a successful lawyer and happily married father of three; Mitch is a single sexual dynamo locked in a perpetual state of arrested adolescence. And while Mitch admires Dave for having a gorgeous wife (Leslie Mann), happy kids, and a high-paying job, Dave envies his unhitched pal's freewheeling lifestyle and his ability to bed any woman who shoots him a seductive glance. Then one night, after having a few too many, Mitch and Dave voice their mutual admiration for one another, never once suspecting they might be about to find out how the other half lives. However, upon waking up the following morning, the two lifelong pals discover that they have somehow traded places. At first the thought of getting a momentary reprieve from their regular routines is an amusing novelty, but the longer it lasts, the more they just want their old lives back. Just when it seems that things can't get any more complicated, Dave's stunning legal associate Sabrina (Olivia Wilde) drops a bombshell, and Mitch gets a surprise visit from his estranged father (Alan Arkin). ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This movie was terrible. It was disgusting and fowl. The language was awful and it was spoken every other word (literally). This movie had a great story line, but I believe the director and producer really messed it up. You are seeing the cleanest and funniest parts of the movie in the previews. Really a shame. I was really looking forward to watching it, but I could not even stand to finish it.

Yes, it has foul language (have you listened to how the irresponsible younger set talk these days? - that's how Mitch is supposed to be, frozen in time), and the beginning 'slap-sick' gross moment was unnecessary but in general, this was better than I expected. That's due mostly to Jason Bateman and somewhat to Ryan Reynolds and a few surprises. No, it's not a great movie and maybe I thought it was ok because I went in with low expectations. I guess all I can say is I've seen worse and I watched the whole thing (and I've turned off many a film before when they were horrible).

Vulgar! What is so insulting about this movie is that a) someone wrote this awful male version of “Freaky Friday” and b) two great actors - Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds – agreed to these roles. Leave this DVD “on the shelf” and don’t bother!

FUNNY AS HELL! I forgot how funny Jason Bateman as well as Ryan Reynolds could be. Great pair!

This movie was not what I thought it would be, not so much funny as it was goofy, Having said that it was entertaining. The characters were not very believable, but fun to watch. Steven C.

I can't believe any of these member reviews. This movie is terrible. I wouldn't call it a date movie ethier, with all the nudity and swearing. I'm not a prude but the language was totally unnessisary. Nobody in real life swears that much. Especially at their jobs and to total strangers, I'm really disapointed in Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman for making this trashy movie. It isn't even funny. They call it adult humor, it's more like horny teenage humor. I HATE this movie..

If you do not like vulgar language every 30 seconds; really dislike foul slapstick (this was totally gross), this movie is not for you, actually the master should be burned. This movie was so totally misrepresented as a comedy (yucky horrid type of funny) and not anything like I thought it would be; I love Jason Bateman, he is funny, and a totally good character actor. This movie blew chucks and almost made me (literally) sick to my stomach - and then to top it off, the language was so foul that I just couldn't take the "F" word every two minutes and switched it off after watching for about 10 minutes, so disappointing. Those who thought this was funny have a totally bizarre sense of humor. Glad I am not in their circle of acquaintances.

Another rehashing of the tired old "trading lives" theme. This one has some funny moments...as well as some absolutely totally gross moments. The "swinging single" guy DOES have a particularly foul mouth (regardless of which body he is in), and seems to be completely devoid of social manners. I find it completely unbelieveable that two grown men would stand side-by-side, urinating in a public fountain, but they do it (TWICE!!). Once you get past that, I guess you can accept the rest of the silly story.

I don't understand why you need to have so much swearing in a movie. This is an awful movie.
