The sequel to the low-budget blockbuster Paranormal Activity takes place a few months before the events of the first film. Katie (Katie Featherston), the much put-upon leading lady in the original, has a sister living in an upscale Los Angeles suburb named Kristi (Sprague Grayden). Kristi has a new baby son, Hunter; a likable lug of a husband named Daniel (Brian Boland), who owns several fast-food joints; a teenage stepdaughter from her hubby's first marriage, Ali (Molly Ephraim); and a large, friendly dog. As the family gets used to the new arrival, strange noises are heard late at night and when they come home from an outing, they discover the house has been trashed, even though none of their valuables have been stolen. Daniel responds by installing a security system and a network of surveillance cameras, though that doesn't stop the noises or the Latino housekeeper's insistence that spirits lurk in the home. When Katie and her boyfriend, Micah (Micah Sloat), stop by for a visit, they discuss the strange goings-on with Kristi; the women of the house believe supernatural forces are at work, while the men find that notion ridiculous. That doesn't last long, as the spirits get noisier and angrier, especially when Ali begins doing some research on the subject, and before long the safety of the household is being threatened on several fronts, possibly due to some dirty dealings in the family's distant past. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

Definately not as good as the first movie. Only one scene made me jump. A family has a first son and the nanny starts smudging the house to rid an evil she feels. They fire her and all hell breaks lose! The daughter reads about how if someone in the family makes a deal with a demon that the first son must be given to repay. She of course plays with the Ouiji board, always a bad idea! The movie has ALOT of slow parts and most of the movie is just bangs and bumps. I just didn't like how predictable the movie was.

Not terrifying. Filmed in a very unprofessional manner which passes for realism. It was sort of a "shaky camera" approach. This film is not progressing the techniques of making movies, but going backwards, Not remarkable or scary.

I didn't find this movie scary or creepy whatsoever. Actually pretty boring. The only reason the first one was decent was because most people thought it was live footage - after that illusion is gone not worth watching. From these reviews, seems like many people liked it so if you think you'd like it give it a shot. To be fair, I don't scare very easily, hardly ever actually - although I go out of my way to try to get spooked (watching these movies alone, in the dark, at night)

This movie is more of a prequel/sequel to the first...Not as good as the first but it made me jump a few times and it also kinda told how it all started...

This is the new standard for horror movies. No more cheesy monsters, just suspense! It is very entertaining and will give you goosebumps.

Way scarier than the first movie. I actually screamed with this one and I didn't with the first. I wish now that I would have seen it in 3-d in the theaters.

Part 2 is considerably scarier than the first one. They did a good job of tying the two movies together. I think these movies are better if you believe that it's possible. It had been a very long time since a horror movie stuck with me once I got home. If you enjoyed the first movie, you will really like part two. This is one of those rare sequels that surpasses the original.

These movies simply take too long to get to the point and I was so bored in the first 20 minutes that I could not even finish watching it. Very big dissapointment for me with the first one and this one as well.
