A handful of scientists trying to unravel a mystery discover a terror beyond their wildest nightmares in this thriller from directors Andy Mitton and Jesse Holland. Friar, NH, is a small town with a bizarre history; in 1940, the 572 people who lived there all left their homes and marched up a mountain trail never to return. When a search party led by the military was conducted months later, some of the missing townspeople were discovered brutally murdered while others froze to death, but the majority were never found. The search party's final report was classified, but a team of university historians and anthropologists has obtained a copy of their findings and travels to Friar in hopes of charting the mysterious lost trail. Most of the people of Friar treat the long-ago disappearance as some sort of urban legend and most flatly refuse to discuss it with the visitors, but one eccentric woman says she knows how to find the trail, and will show them where it is if she's allowed to tag along. The researchers agree, and they set out along the head of the trail, marked by a stone with the legend "YellowBrickRoad." As they climb farther up the mountain, they hear a faint music that grows louder with each step, and a collective madness begins to overtake them as they come closer to the place where the people of Friar met their fate. YellowBrickRoad was an official selection at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Movie was ok I suppose. Parts were different from the usual movie of this type. I did feel kind of let down though cause I don't really know what it was all about. Maybe it is just me, but I felt that nothing was really explained as to why it was all happening....

Great premise, but I kind of lost interest towards the end. Would still recommend that people give it a chance because there are some great scenes and hearing music in the middle of the wilderness is just plain creepy!

Wow. This movie really sucked. I like the beginning about the history of the town, unknown if it was real or not, but the rest was very boring and didn't make sence.

This film had the potential to be incredible but unfortunately, it falls flat. Despite the mostly negative reviews Ive read on horror sites, I had high hopes. There were certain moments where the filmakers nailed the suspense but I felt it was few and far between. The pacing is off as well. It bounces between long drawn out character building (none of which I found likable) and unexplained chaos thrown in when they woke up to realize 30min has gone by and not a thing is happening. Still, I managed to really get interested toward the last 3rd of the movie just to have the most bizarre, pulled out of my bottom ending Ive seen in a long time. Major letdown especially after waiting for some degree of an explaination and getting NOTHING. Thats right. Nothing. Dont bother. It could have been great. It wasnt. 2 creepy moments, a lot of buildup, no pay off. Not worth it. SKIP! I would recommend the movie "TRIANGLE". Suspense, action, great acting and story, twists and turns and PAY OFF!

Don't waste your time on this one. It is a poor example of what we saw in The Blair Witch Project--and makes about as much sense.

The synopsis of this movie is more intriguing than the movie itself. I am sorry but it is thumbs down for me.

This movie was tough to watch, not because of horrific brutallity or anything, it just wasn't very good. The concept was fairly interesting, at most, but it was poorly executed. The ending seemed like it was a cop-out easy way to end the film, it was almost as if the director didn't have an ending in mind and just went with whatever he had a budget for. The only good part about this film was the use of sound. But, even watching this movie with a high quality surround sound system doesnt make up for the poor acting, the dragging plot, or the abruptly pointless ending.
