ROT: Reunion of Terror (2009)
Member Rating:
An unofficial year high school reunion sets the stage for terror in this independent shocker. A decade after graduating, six friends come together at a remote hunting cabin to reconnect, and catch-up on lost times. Meanwhile, out in the darkness, the rotting remains of two murdered campers fester on the forest floor. Before long six becomes five, and whispers of a serial killer prompt the others to fear for their lives. But is the maniac a stranger, or someone who's been with them all along? ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Decent attempt at a giallo includes typical plot-lines and acting from an 80's slasher flick (overused and barely acceptable). While the opening - with the naked lesbians running about - screams exploitation; the film itself seems to find a place in the "who done it" genre of early slasher films. I'd also like to state the middle is kinda slow - but there's a payoff to the whole thing that made it definitely worth a watch. Not a groundbreaking ending; but something that fits in nicely with 70's grindhouse films. While not a brand new classic; "ROT" secures itself a place above both studio and indie horror films for attempting to revive the genre - while at the same time following the plot restrictions of a slasher film. Recommended.

Actually a pretty good movie! I watch A LOT of lower budget horror/slasher flicks and this one really seemed to try and add a little something for everyone. I agree with the other reviewer that the middle is a bit slow, but overall well worth the watch. Also, kudos on the music score. Most of the time I try and tune out the music in these movies, but I found myself noticing the little things in the music and sound effects that really brought out the scene. Nice work.

Not bad for a low budget. Low budget horrors can be a lot worse. Kind of short movie however. I liked the twist in the end. Haven't heard that story before.

when i saw the cover i thought another teenage stalker movie but this one was quite good; the killer reveal at the end was really a surprise; i've seen a lot of bad movies of this genre but this one renewed my faith that there are some good ones still out there.

This movie ranks right up there with horror. But i could not figure out who was doing all the killing.

ICK! Terrible, slow moving movie! Couldn't get thru it; it is definitely a disappointment compared to the early slasher-type flicks. This one just didn't make it. I'm a BIG FAN of the slasher movies from that era. IT MISSED THE BOAT--ENTIRELY!!

A decent movie, worth the watch. Don't expect a lot and you'll be happy. Nothing scary about it, just your typical slasher movie.

Thinking I've seen the worst movie ever, another one comes along to top that. ROT is that movie. Yes, it is a slasher movie, so I didn't expect too much in the way of an original plot, however, the acting was so bad, I mean, really bad. The producers, directors should stay with making home movies, that's what ROT reminded me of. With all the slow motion and other silly, unnecessary effects, this is at best an amateur made film. I sat through this whole movie, annoyingly so, so that I could write a review; and I don't write many. The effects were way over-used, the editing was just atrocious, dis-jointed and full of mind jarring jumps to other scenes. I watched the movie from a technical as well as a entertainment point of view.
