A devoted Muslim family man experiences a hilarious identity crisis after discovering that he was adopted at birth, and his real name is Solly Shimshillewitz. Mahmud Nasir (Omid Djalili) is still grieving the recent death of his mother when he finds his birth certificate, and learns he was born to a Jewish mother. In order to embrace his heritage, Mahmud seeks the advice of drunken cab-driver Lenny (Richard Schiff), whose crash course in Judaism is more quirky than kosher. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
If you have any interest in the middle east and its stereotypes (arab and jewish) and how these stereotypes can play out in a place removed from the middle east, then try this funny movie. all comedy is one death away from tragedy though.
I loved this movie! I was so excited to see it available. I've been dying to see this since it was at the film festival and it didn't let me down.
What makes this even more hilarious...I'm Jewish and my fiance is Muslim. This movie made for some crazy belly laughs in the house. :)
This movie was funny and a delight to watch. Some scenes had me on the floor laughing. How come the British can still make great movies and all we can do is turn comic books into bad films?
