Milton Bradley's enduringly popular strategic board game makes the leap to the big screen in Hancock director Peter Berg's epic sci-fi adventure pitting an international naval fleet against an army of invading aliens. When the two forces find themselves evenly matched, each must rely on strategy and cunning in order to emerge the victor. Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard head-up a cast also featuring Liam Neeson, Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker, and Tadanobu Asano. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Dumb but entertaining. Script was filled with eye-rolling levels of stupidity (especially by the end) but the special effects were great. If you don't mind suspending all rational beliefs and just want to veg out, you might like this movie.
This will entertain kids. But mature adults will see it for what it really is...a complete mess. The acting is atrocious. The character development was horrendous and at times, completely unnecessary It's one of those movies that make it real easy to turn off after watching it for only 15min..
I found this movie really enjoyable. It was much more than I expected. It took awhile to get going and the script was a little dull for the first 20-30 minutes, but after that it picked up. I think the special features are great. It does have a plot and it's generic. Aliens respond to a transmission put out by the beacon project and invade earth. One of their ships gets destroyed and they take over a Hawaii island in order to use their satelites for transmission. Sure, it wasnt the most brilliant thing ever; but it's worth the watch.
I thought some of the warship battle scenes were graphic. Brought to mind the horrors of naval combat during World War II. Other than that, I enjoyed the movie. Action-packed with a bit of sci-fi and with a few unexpected plot twists. Exciting for the kids, but I think adults might be moved by the scenes depicting the sort of true life casualties suffered by the greatest generation.
This movie was actually really entertaining - I expected nothing but found the action/effects really good. Performances were par for the course in an action flick, but I really appreciated the Missouri vets being worked into the plot. Worth watching!
I was ready for a bad movie and I was not disappointed. It was boring, had a silly plot, chars I did not like. Also really had a weak connection to the board game.
I was playing with my phone more then paying attention to the movie yet I missed nothing.
