A very fun and entertaining "Pirates" movie. I still consider "dead man's chest" to be my favorite in the series, but this was definitely worth seeing in the theater. That said, I hope they don't do a 5th movie. Was this review helpful? Yes

Captain Jack is drawn into the middle of a contest between Spain & Britain to see who'll be first to find the Fountain of Youth. After narrowly escaping an audience with the King, he's pressed into service aboard Blackbeard's ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge. Danger and adventure ensue as the race is enjoined between Blackbeard, Barbossa & the Spanish, each seeking the Fountain for their own purpose.
Well conceived and executed, this movie hits the ground rolling, filled with plenty of action, comedy & drama. The characters are compelling, portrayed by a stellar cast. The first stand alone movie since the first film. You don't need to have seen the first three Pirates to follow the story. Captain Jack is given a thorough introduction, demonstrating what makes Jack Jack (his escape from the palace, by turning himself into a human Rube Goldberg device, is classic Jack). A wonderful job by all. One of the best Pirates. I highly recommend it. Was this review helpful? Yes

Actually was not expecting to much out of this, but really enjoyed it. Probably my favorite one out of all of them. Great story line and special effects. And what was even better new characters. Really recommend this one. Was this review helpful? Yes

After watching this I can understand why I didnt want 2nd and 3rd....Boring, not funny, ect....I can admit the last 20 minutes was OK...went with two friends who loved the serieds...One said movie was decent and one said weak... Was this review helpful? Yes

People... people... people. Four stars? Five? Really? Some folks should not rate movies. Ever. This is just not a 4-star+ effort. It is average to below average. A 4-5 star movie would be "Ben Hur", or "American Beauty". This is not a classic movie that people will be talking about 50 years from now... or even 10 years from now. Compared with the others in the series, this ranks dead last without question, by far. It is clear that the movie suffered from the lack of Gore Verbinski as Director. it changed the whole tone of the movie. The movie was far less cinematic. Yes, it is worth seeing. Yes, I am a fan of the series. No, this is not a 4-5 star movie. People rating this high probably saw it in the same condition. Clearly Bryan M. and Jasoncub A., who rated this 5 stars before they even saw it, are tweekers in need of attention. Put down the crack pipe boys. It was ...... it was not worth it. Too many add ins that were just plain ridiculous. Mermaids that turn to humans out of the water and zombies roaming around the ship, Blackbeard with magic sword that rules the ship and masts who dabbles in homemade voodoo in his spare time. $30 wasted on this non sense, which was supposed to be 3D, but was instead as flat as last week's soda. Do not waste your money or if you must see it, wait till comes out on the DVD, should not be long after this weekend when people realize how bad this movie is. Was this review helpful? Yes
