Dr. Seuss' classic, environmentally themed children's book comes to the big screen in this tale of a young boy who encounters a cantankerous forest creature after venturing outside of his artificial city in search of a tree. Ted (voice of Zac Efron) lives in a town where nothing is quite as it appears; everything is plastic, including the plants. Hopelessly smitten by the beautiful Audrey (voice of Taylor Swift), who dreams of one day seeing a real tree, Ted boldly leaves the city determined to find the flora and grant her wish. Along the way, the young adventurer crosses paths with the Lorax (voice of Danny DeVIto), a diminutive, mustached defender of nature who doesn't take kindly to human intruders. The better Ted gets to know the Lorax, however, the more he learns that his newfound friend has good reason for being a bit surly. Also featuring the voices of Betty White, Ed Helms, and Rob Riggle. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I have a kid-like heart and love animation. I didn't like the whole Fergunly/tree hugging story. Did not like the singing and the rhyming....well it was tolerable. But the Lorax, bears, fish were so adorable. I liked it.
Wow! I have no problem with a message to kids about being good stewards of the environment BUT this was sooo over the top in terms of it's message that I couldn't watch. I expect a left-wing bias from Hollywood but this goes way too far. When will we ever get a movie that talks about the benefits of capitalism?
Great movie and even better message! It has nothing to do with Socialist Agenda. It is about changing the way we are and trying to be better for the environment. It is all about love and compassion, which is what we really need nowadays. LOVE IT!
I know this was meant for kids but it was a great movie to watch and if you pay attention there is a very important message in this movie. We will die off if we don't start taking better care of our mother earth. 11/2/12
