Two teenage girls are in love with the same boy, but the results are a long, long way from Betty and Veronica in this over-the-top horror comedy based on a manga by Shungiku Uchida. Monami (Yukie Kawamura) is a pretty new girl at school who quickly develops a furious crush on Mizushima (Takumi Saito), a handsome boy with charisma as impressive as his hair. Mizushima already has a steady girl, Kieko (Eri Otoguro), much to Monami's chagrin, but that doesn't stop her from giving the boy of her dreams a box of special chocolates for Valentine's Day. What Mizushima doesn't know is just how special those candies are -- Monami is a vampire, and the chocolates are filled with blood, which sends him into a psychedelic state and turns him into a fellow creature of the night. Monami asks the newly-undead Mizushima to be her soul mate, but this doesn't sit well with Kieko, and when a fight between the two rivals leaves Kieko dead, that's not enough to stop her. Kieko's father is a scientist doing bizarre experiments in reanimation, and he resurrects his daughter using some spare body parts, turning her into a powerful warrior who goes toe to toe against the vampire who stole her man. Kyuketsu Shojo tai Shojo Furanken (aka Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl) was directed by Yoshihiro Nishimura (the special effects artist behind the cult favorite Tokyo Gore Police) in collaboration with Naoyuki Tomomatsu. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Don't watch this flick expecting the next "Godfather." It's a total laugh out loud action/horror/comedy flick. The action is brutal, yet laughable. The score is put together well and there's one moment where a song is put in perfectly. The violence loses it's novelty about halfway through, but it picks back up shortly after.

It was funny and the gore was over the top like anime films. The racism was pretty bad but look how bad other races make fun of asians.

This is one of the few movies I have turned-off after the first 5 minutes. I was hoping it was funny at least, but it is so far over the top on fake blood spatter it's riduculous! Don't rent it! I do like nearly all horror movies, so it is not an issue of me not being able to handle it. lol

Not even on rainy day, w/no work to do, nothing on TV, all your chores done should you watch this. Synopsis actually more entertaining than movie; offensive racial caricatures & cutting satire STOOOPID & UNFUNNY. Opening scene terrific & promising & then it's all downhill and insulting from there. Want to keep your brain cells? Don't watch this. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!

Horrible! I love Asian Gore Films... Everything was good until the classroom scene where a group of women are actually in BLACK FACE with prosthetic makeup to make their lips and nose bigger... one even looks like the bushmen tribe... are you serious? I even took the time to rewind this scene to see if I was having a "sensitive" moment... NO. I don't think so.

I usually love asian films but the blatant racism really hurts, pass on this if racism bothers you.
