My 4 and 7 year old girls both loved this movie. They wanted to keep it for days to rewatch it over & over. Definately better then many of the other Barbie movies that I so eagerly had to sit through :-)

For a Barbie movie, I have to say this was the best one yet. I actually didn't feel like gouging out my eyes after seeing it for the 3rd time in a row with my daughters, and with 3 daughters, I've seen all of them. The... Musketeers has a good storyline. It doesn't get bogged down with singing just to sing. The main character doesn"t give up her dream just because a good man shows interest in her. It also shows that whether a man or woman and regardless of level of responsibility, a person doesn't have to give up the other interests in his or her life. As for the violence, it was well within children standards and much milder then your average Bugs Bunny cartoon. The GUYS in my house even sat down to watch Barbie and the Three Musketeers and that's a first!

My daughter loved that there were 4 main "cool" girl characters instead of just one and the whole "girl power" thing is very appealing. I have to say that this movie seemed more violent than the other Barbie movies and was disappointing in this respect. I have appreciated the past Barbies because they have tactfully dealt with "difficult" situations. Whether or not you and your child will be effected by this is subjective, so you may have no problem with what you see. My only issue is that the films' heroes, the barbies who are looked up to by the girls watching the film, train to fight and act so violently. To me, the film sort of celebrates violence and demonstrates it as an appropriate means to solving conflict - which is not a message I think we want to be sending to our kids.
