The Bourne Identity director Doug Liman teams with screenwriters Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth to streamline Joseph Wilson's and Valerie Plame's books detailing the explosive outing of undercover CIA agent Plame into a tense docudrama thriller starring Naomi Watts and Sean Penn. At the time her cover was blown by the George W. Bush administration, Plame (Watts) was combing Iraq for evidence of weapons of mass destruction as part of the CIA's Counter-Proliferation Division. Her husband, American diplomat Joe Wilson was attempting to verify a claim that the Iraqis had recently purchased enriched uranium from Niger when the White House began beating the war drums before any solid evidence had been gathered. When Joe penned an editorial in The New York Times decrying the hasty call to war, a prolific Washington, D.C. journalist took the opportunity to reveal Plame's identity as a CIA operative, an act that not only put her career in jeopardy, but also left her various contacts overseas in a precarious position. This is a very good movie, not only because Sean Penn & Naomi Watts do a good job of portraying true events but it's actually part of our history that occurred during the George W. Bush adminstration. I highly recommend this movie & give it 4 stars.

Regardless of the truth behind this incident, the most important part of the movie is told in Sean Penn's speech at the end. It is not a speech appealing to liberals or conservatives,democrats or republicans. It is a speech imploring all of us to continue to question and search for the truth even when it means questioning the integrity of those at the very top.Given the current state of affairs in this nation, all those in power, whether it be in the private sector or in government (which at this point appear to be one and the same) need to be watched closely lest the very foundations that this country was founded upon disappear.To me, that's what this movie is about and it does a good job displaying it.

story about CIA and white house, and secrets and set up are out and how crazy is that if u mess it up with the life like CIA u all alone, no one willing to help u, or everyone are mean to u. but its good story telling and good ending, she is a very strong woman, she didn't let anyone ruined her marriages, i like it alot, and i love Naomi watts movies p.s i just want everyone to stop fighting at the war, i want my friends to come back from army,

This movie is a pass. based on the alleged outing of CIA undercover agent. 1 problem, She wasn't undercover CIA agent. Basically a low level person, a asst. Never worked in the field. This movie was another liberal attack on pres. Bush. WAH WAH let's pretend we know more than the White House...
