Vogue has been the most powerful and best-respected fashion magazine in the world for decades, and each year the journal devotes a fall issue to the designs and designers that the editors feel will be influential in the coming year. The September 2007 issue of Vogue, that year's annual Fall Fashion issue, became the biggest single issue in the magazine's long history, and filmmaker R.J. Cutler was given unprecedented access to Vogue's creative team as the issue was being prepared. The September Issue is a documentary which focuses on Vogue editor Anna Wintour as she visits the annual Fashion Week shows, accepts or dismisses the latest creations of the biggest names in fashion, works with the models, photographers, and writers who help bring her vision to the page, and labors with her staff to determine what the world's fashionistas will be wearing for the next 12 months. I enjoyed the human quality Anna portrayed. She was real and honest and the cameras picked up all of the emotion. Her staff is the best of the best and they uphold the "Vogue" name well all these years. I really enjoyed it!

THIS WAS AN INTERESTING MOVIE. IT WAS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE ABOUT SOMETHING I KNOW LITTLE OF. THE PEOPLE WERE VERY GOOD IN HELPING TO PORTRAY THE INDUSTRY.

Overall pretty interesting but a bit long in places, leading me to lose interest and focus on looking through old issues of Vogue instead. Movie added a lot of interesting details into what goes on behind the scenes at Vogue. I enjoyed recognizing pictures from Vogue, especially those gorgeous 1920s inspired shots. I had to wonder, how Grace could have such fantastic vision, be a former model, but not put more time into herself. Still beautiful in her way but some change to hair and wardrobe would go a long way. I can definitely see where the Devil Wears Prada book came from.

I love fashion, but this was a bit slow for me. I'm just glad that The Devil Wears Prada is such a better take on the world of Vogue. I thought this movie would be a lot more interesting than it was.

I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed watching this documentary on Anna Wintour and VOGUE. Since THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA was inspired by her, I wanted to meet the ICE QUEEN and that she is but there's real warmth underneath that cold exterior. If you like FASHION/VOGUE, its quite interesting!

I was rather disappointed. Anna Wintour only smiles when she is with the designers. Most of the time she looks bored or covers her mouth. The best part was Grace Coddington and the French shoot - genius and so, so beautiful!!! Other than that, it was rather dull.

Inspiring--a must see for anyone in a creative industry. Anna's (an Ann Coddington's) obsession with obtaining the highest quality of work, month after month, is an example for all to follow. A brilliant documentary that demystifies the mystique surrounding this enigmatic woman, while at the same time, increases the audience's respect for her and her work.
