Nevermore (2008)
Member Rating:
The reclusive former head of a Fortune 500 company descends ever deeper into the abyss of insanity, ultimately becoming unable to discern whether his paranoia concerning his estranged wife is founded in fact, or just the bitter delusion of a fractured psyche. Jonathan Hollis (Judd Nelson) used to be an influential business magnate; these days he's withdrawn into his childhood home, a social recluse seemingly intent on dragging his wife down into the darkness, too. He's forced his wife Lydia to say goodbye to the New York social scene in favor of withering away in his crumbling castle, and when Jonathan begins to suspect that her resentment has turned malicious, he recruits his old pal Devlin to discern whether Lydia is attempting to make him look insane so she can abscond with his fortune. Has Jonathan's deep-seated greed finally gotten the best of him, or is Lydia really the manipulative mastermind that he's come to see her as? A Devlin goes to work sorting the facts from the paranoid delusions, Jonathan begins to question the loyalties of everyone around him while being drawn ever deeper into a deadly game of cat and mouse. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This flick moves along slowly from the opening frame. In an effort to fill time and lengthen to movie, the main character over-explains everything, leaving nothing to your imagination. I don't know if he ever changes out of his bath robe because we only made it half way through the movie. Don't waste your time watching this one!

I don't think I've ever heard a more botched audio track. Thomas Zambeck has created a new low in where the bar is set for movie-making. Rather than purging by sticking your fingers down your throat-just watch this movie.

An “art film”, I suppose. Soundtrack did have problems. If the viewer isn't familiar with Poe, I doubt this will have any entertainment value. I’d suggest the original black and white version, or read the short story by Poe. Pace didn’t accelerate as a Poe masterpiece would. I did enjoy seeing the similarities to the work by Poe. I nice twist on his work. Acting was decent. Plot was not overly forecasted, if one had picked up on the Poe references.

Did not make much since until the end. Very slow moving movie. I was wasted time and money to make this film.

Perhaps one of the worst movies I've endured. Bad acting, bad plot, bad lighting, bad sound, bad movie.

Bored and predictable, but Judd Nelson put in a good effort.

Never again! This movie is incredibly slow moving and boring. Too much dialogue and not enough action. Judd Nelson can't seem to break out of the typecast role of the demented killer. Don't waste your time on this one.
