A Marine platoon fights to prevent the city of Los Angeles from being overtaken by a race of highly advanced alien invaders in this epic sci-fi action thriller from director Jonathan Liebesman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) and producer Neal H. Moritz (I Am Legend, Fast & Furious). After decades of speculation about life on other planets, the people of Earth discover that extraterrestrials really do exist when destruction rains down from the stars on cities all across the globe. When the alien warships descend upon Los Angeles, however, the ferocious invaders discover that humankind won't go down without a fight as a gruff Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his fearless troop of jarheads point their weapons skyward and make one last stand for the entire human race. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Great movie, kept me enthralled pretty much throughout. Good characters, nice that they gave you a feel for most of the guys in the group, rather than just a bunch of one dimensional acting. Good action sequences and some good special effects. I found it an interesting take on the aliens and their battlebot kinda thing, it kept breaking down and they were scrambling to get it aimed at the Marines and working... a different take than completely superior firepower and no weakness.

I wouldnt consider this a sci-fi film. It is more of a action movie who the enemies happen to be aliens. Very little is explained about the aliens and movie focuses more on character relations with each other; Even that came across as just ok. not enough character development. The cinematography and action scenes are pretty cool if thats just what your looking for. But there are tons of other movies that do it much better. would not recommend.

Yikes, what a film. I don't blame the creators of this film for being mad at Skyline for ripping off their idea, Battle LA was bad.

I was extremely surprised by this movie. Love the script, acting, and direction. Truly something anybody who enjoys military movies can enjoy. Great battle scenes and awesome character relationships. Almost forget they are actors and not real Marines.

Looked like authentic battle scenes at the platoon level. Pretty grim and gritty. Aliens a little too easy to blow away. Shows what block-by-block fighting would be like in L.A. Oh, yeah, good reviews by Kourtney M., Luke C. and Eddie S. 2012

I was never bored while watching this movie. This movie should have been marketed better, and it would have made a lot of money. Amazingly, not the hugest budget, but you really don't care. The movie is about the characters, and about the teamwork relationship. The aliens are not typical, and the heroes / deaths, etc. are not predictable. It's worth your time to watch....

Alein movies are hard to make and do well anymore. But this one was amazing! I really didn't pay attention to runtime either, this movie was good enough to have me sitting on the edge of my seat withought a lot of downtime from the action. I highly recommend this movie!
