Spectacular production! Finally performers who have the voice, skill and looks! They are hot. You want to see more. Very well done.

This is by far the best version of Carmen that I have seen. The 2 principle performers are not only great singers but superb actors. The staging is exceptional and provocative. Only the young Jose Carrarus' portrayal of Don Jose in the 1988 Metropolitan Opera version rivals that of Jonas Kaufmann. In that same performance I did prefer their choice for the part of Micaela over Norah Amsellem..

Just by chance we saw the new 3-D Carmen, done on the same stage as the 2007 version. Christine Rice is Carmen in the new film. She is far superior to Anna Caterina Antonacci, but we enjoyed seeing and comparing the two.
