True Blood chronicles the backwoods Louisiana town of Bon Temps...where vampires have emerged from the coffin, and no longer need humans for their fix. Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) works as a waitress at the rural bar Merlotte's. Though outwardly a typical young woman, she keeps a dangerous secret: she has the ability to hear the thoughts of others. I had just read about this show, but since it was written by allen ball (six feet under) I was pretty sure I would like it. I DID...If you're into vampire stories, you will like this too !!!!!

I can see why everyone is into the show. It's hard not to get sucked into it. I've only watched the first disc and am eager to see more. The show does follow the books to the letter, from what I've seen so far. But, I hear that doesn't last past either the 1st or 2nd season. I think that might be a good thing. The books are good, but I'd like to see a different take on all the characters rather than just watching what I've previously read!
