A hired gun from the future discovers that his greatest adversary is himself in this twisting sci-fi mindbender starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and directed by Rian Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom). In the year 2047 time travel has yet to be invented. Thirty years later, however, it has. Though immediately outlawed, time-travel technology is quickly appropriated by the mob, and used to cleanly dispose of anyone deemed a threat. The process is simple: When the mob wants someone to disappear, they simply send them back to the year 2047, where an assassin known as a "looper" quickly carries out the hit, and disposes of the body. Joe Simmons (Gordon-Levitt) is one of the most respected loopers around. Each kill earns him a big payday, and he's got big plans to retire to France. Then, one day, as Joe patiently awaits the appearance of his next target near the edge of a remote corn field, he's shocked to come face-to-face with his future self (Bruce Willis). When the younger Joe hesitates, the older Joe makes a daring escape. Now, in order to avoid the wrath of his underworld boss (Jeff Daniels), young Joe must "close the loop" and kill his older counterpart. Meanwhile, the revelation that a powerful crime boss in the future has set the underworld ablaze pits the two Joes on a violent collision course, with the fate of a devoted mother (Emily Blunt) and her young son hanging in the balance. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is playing in a lot of movies these days and this is one of his BEST. The Director-Writter Rian Johnson does an excellent job in getting the movie to the point without drawing in all the technology get in the way. The movie slows down and then speeds up. The movie just works. Bruce Willis plays the looper disposer of his future self. So "Joe" close the loop by killing his future "Joe". Jeff Daniels plays the underworld boss and pits the to Joe's against one another in a violent gun battle I did enjoy. I will be seeing this movie again, it is way above average. A must see for Sci-Fi fans and time-travel movie buffs. Action packed and IT will knock you out into any time zone. In my opinion B/BUSTER 'S GREGG C. HAS A MIND OF A CHIMPANZEE and that is the reason the time travel concept escapes his tiny brain. This is a 5 STAR MOVIE... Also GREGG you need to pay for watching the movie twice, mouth- breather...and this movie has been rated as a 4STAR movie by critics.

Not as good a your expectations perhaps, but this is an entertaining watch. There are no huge special effects and the budget is not as high as others. The acting is good and there is a focus on acting rather than just explosions. It is not as good as I would have liked, but it is still a solid movie to watch. I suggest just watching it and not get too hyped up. Also, better perhaps to watch on DVD than at the movies. A little disappointing for your dollar.

Ultimately, time loop stories cannot stand under the weight of close examination, and Looper is no different. If he disappears after killing himself, then why did they have to torture the earlier looper to draw in the old one? They could have just killed the young one, and the old one would have disappeared also. It is one flaw among many. The nudity also adds nothing and is more tastefully done in later parts of the same film, proving just how unnecessary the nudity was in the first place. There are definitely compelling aspects, but on the whole, I liked it not.

Maybe I'm just not as smart as the member Louie C..But this film "LOOPER",IS SO CONFUSING,that even staying in the theater to watch it again did not explain what in the heck the screenwriter was thinking of.If the writer of a movie can't explain what they were thinking , so the director can put it on the screen and have it make sense.Than why bother .If this movie were about people getting shot on a 12 x 12 foot piece of plastic with a hood on, than we have a film with a plot that makes a little more sense than this garbage.I could not tell a friend what this movie was about and make them want to see it for themselves. I saw it twice and have no idea what the plot is.I have no idea who the bad guy's are or who are the good guy's .Mr screenwriter, if you want people to see your movie over and over again, to get the most money for your efforts, than write a film with characters we care about .I had no feelings who lived or died in "LOOPER".The next 3 weeks will tell ALL, ABOUT GROSS.
