Where has director Michael Anderson been since Logan's Run? Earning his keep on such slick TV-style time-fillers as Millennium. Kris Kristofferson plays the head of an official committee investigating the head-on collision of two commercial jets. A thorough analysis reveals the presence of a weapon of unknown origin in the wreckage; it is also pointed out that some of the victims' watches are running backwards. This, coupled with the cryptic warnings by flight attendant Cheryl Ladd to drop the investigation, prompts Kristofferson to burrow further and uncover the truth: Ladd is a sentinel from 1000 years in the future, who has come back to the 20th Century to help repopulate her dying civilization. Plot pegs and obstacles are in the hands of such sideline characters as enigmatic professor Daniel Travanti and amiable android Robert Joy. Millennium was adapted by John Varley from his own story Air Raid. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

I read fairly good reviews on the net, and I love time travel, so I thought I would like this. Unfortunately no one mentioned it is more of a love story, (blick) Kris Kristofferson and Cheryl Ladd are not exactly great actors. The idea was great, the effects were very good , especially for the late 80's. and funny how Cheryl Ladd's hair in the 31st Century looked just like a punk rocker in the 80's!! That was great, the fashions are fun and so dated. (I'm talking in the "future" of course we all know everything always comes back!) This movie really could of been good, if they expanded the time travel aspect and dwelled more on the living conditions the future seemed to bring. That was interesting thinking, alas, they didn't.

They stayed close to the book it was taken from. The movie was ok but the book was a little better.

If you want a movie that I truely believe the writer was delusional, this is it. I mean this in the best way possible (to follow the rules of the "Review"). This movie I do think inspired "12 Monkeys". The same type of cinematic drama and plot that captivates the audience. Seeing Cheryl Ladd in a feature film is an added bonus. I just couldn't fathom her actually kissing Kris. Other than that awkward hotel scene, this film is a great one to put on the queue.

This might have been a good movie... IN ANOTHER TIME, HA HA HA! Oh, bad joke. Anyway, this sucks hard. Boring characters, boring effects. Boring boring boring. But not as bad as Final Approach.

A very intriguing premise which could have been done better, but worth a look if you like sci-fi and time travel flicks. The part of the film that takes place in modern days is very well done. The way the future is portrayed is a bit corny with the Mad Max/punk rocker-reject 80's styling. If the director had done the future part in a less cartoonish style, the film would have worked well. However, one of the more intriguing parts of the story is how we run through the events again, but from a different angle and perspective. As I said, it's an interesting premise. It's the type of film that I think could be done well if it was remade with today's more grown up styling and a few storyline tweeks (ala Battlestar Galactica.) Queue it up. It's a fun ride.
