A troubled 15-year-old boy attempting to cope with the recent death of his mother sets out to research Dr. Max Gerson's claims of a diet that can cure cancer as his first assignment for home-schooling in this documentary from filmmaker Steve Kroschel (Avalanche, Dying to Have Known). Garrett is a boy who has always been close to nature. He lives on a reserve with a menagerie of orphaned animals, and over the years he's become especially sensitive to the nutritional needs of the diet-sensitive animals he's charged with caring for. When Garrett's mother suffers a tragic and untimely death, the boy falls into a dangerous downward spiral and nearly flunks out of school. Increasingly concerned for Garrett's well-being and determined to strengthen their bond despite the many challenges on the horizon, his father makes the decision to begin home-schooling the distressed teen. Garrett's first assignment: study a controversial book written by Dr. Max Gerson, a physician who claims to have discovered a diet that's capable of curing cancer. Is Dr. Gerson's therapy truly the legitimate, alternative cure it appears to be? In order to find out the truth behind this long-suppressed treatment, Garrett interviews not only Dr. Gerson's family members, but various doctors, skeptics, and cancer patients as well. His studies completed and his findings revelatory, Garrett now sets out to tell the entire world about The Gerson Miracle. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

You people are SO brainwashed! This documentary was fantastic! Americans need to know the truth about BIG government, socialism and what is happening to and in this GREAT country of ours before it's too late to do anything about it. If interested in the Gerson Therapy, there is a documentary called 'The Gerson Miracle."

BEAUTIFUL TRUTH, THE-2008. The information contained in it is very valuable. I hope it gets into circulation much more Allopathic medicine has its place but at times one has to look elsewhere. Someone like Michael Douglas could benefit a lot from a segment of the film IF he would watch it and follow the lead.

Loved this movie. They cover many topics that need to be in the public eye-- such as all the toxins we come into contact with on a daily basis, knowingly and unknowingly. The willfull ignorance of the medical community when it comes to nutritional healing is exposed. It's about time. This is a great movie for those who want to learn about healing without potentially deadly pharmaceuticals. As for the actual Gerson therapy, they don’t go into great detail about what it entails in the movie. In my research on Gerson therapy and other nutritional cures for disease, I came to a conclusion. It does not so much matter which one you choose, just follow the basics that they talk about (as in Gerson therapy and many of the other cancer cures): eat fresh raw organic fruits and vegetables, plenty of fresh greens, and not much else, maybe some nuts and seeds. Living food is key. Eat no processed food, and minimal or no cooked food. Raw food seems to be the key for healing disease.

I found this movie really dragged. While some documentaries are full of eye-opening information, I felt this one had very few things in it that I didn't know. The information was presented in a very cheesy way. They also spent too much time on each topic, but not enough on the actual Gerson Diet. There is only on very short piece on the diet itself.

This video is so filled with falsehoods and wild statements that I found it incredible that it could be made into a video.

Choosing locally-grown whole foods is a good idea. The size of their "energy auras" is irrelevant. Let's leave pseudo-science out of the picture, and focus on common-sense. For those interested in improving their health and well-being, there are better documentaries available--more informative, and less invested in a "blame-the-establishment" ideology.
