When a small-town teen becomes convinced that her new next-door neighbor is a lycanthrope, she calls on a popular television action star to dispatch the beast in this tale of terror featuring Kevin Sorbo. Sixteen year old Loren (Nina Dobrev) sensed that there was something sinister about her handsome new neighbor Jared (Peter Stebbings) from the very beginning. Unfortunately no one else around town seems to agree with Loren's assessment that Jared is in fact a werewolf who only exposes his true form under the light of the full moon. Now, as the stubbornly ignorant locals begin falling prey to a mysterious beast, Loren turns to television action star Redd Trucker (Sorbo) in hopes that he will believe her outlandish tale and display the same brand of bravura that made him a small screen superstar while doing battle with a real life monster. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
This is a good movie. Really surprised me but well acted, scripted and never bores you. This is a lot like Fright Night but with werewolves and has the teenagere vs. creepy monster neighbor but this pulls it off. Adding Kevin Sorbo as a ham from Hollywood didn't need to be in this movie but added a lot of humor. This is worth a watch for the Halloween season.
this was actually a pretty good movie. it went above my expectations. sort of reminisent of Fright Night. if you like a little humor along with some campiness, this movie's for you!
The guy in a wolf suit is just bad. The affects were on pace for a 1970's thriller, but just cheesed this up well beyond what a person should endure. The story, bad, acting, not good. Not really anything I can say good about this.
well i could only watch 15mins of this movie because i got it in the mail and guess what it was scratched up to the point that i couldnt finish it i did like what i was watching and wish i could have finished it
This is not a serious WW movie. Expect something like a long episode of Buffy with a Werewolf in it and some humor. There was a bit of plotline that is similar to Fright Night. Cool enough monster but the were a couple plot flaws that should not have been missed. Worth a view.
This page states that Fright Night is similar, and it's not lying. In truth, Never Cry Werewolf is basically a take-off of the brilliance that was Fright Night, and basically has the same plotline. A teenager spies on their mysterious neighbor, and soon discovers he's a fabled movie monster. Then said teenager goes to a now-out-of-work TV personality for help, but that guy ends up not being of much help until the very end. Oh, the monster guy? Thinks the teen girl of the story is his long-lost love. Been there, seen that before. Only difference is, teen in question is female, and monster in question is a werewolf. In spite of all this, and its carbon copy nature, Never Cry Werewolf is actually an interesting watch. All in all, I would recommend this movie to others. If you enjoyed Fright Night, chances are, you'll like this one, too.
