For all the creative opportunities for family dysfunction that the Darlings' money facilitates, they are essentially a charismatic bunch, and the audience quickly understands Nick George's strange commitment to people he resents so strongly. And for every participant in the Darlings' world, the question is always, "Is it about the money?" Figuring out when it is and when it isn't provides the great impetus for character development in the show. Peter Krause is excellent as 2nd generation family attorney Nick George, who Sutherland accurately commented takes the "long view" in his acting, but the surprise performance of *Dirty Sexy Money* is Glenn Fitzgerald as bitter priest Brian Darling.
UNLESS I MISSED SOMETHING, IT ENDED WITH UNANSWERED QUESTIONS. WAS IT SUPPOSED TO END WITH THE NUTCRACKER EPISODE?? I THINK I MISSED SOMETHING ALONG THE WAY, BUT I DO NOT THINK IT WAS THAT BAD.
I have seen paper clips with MORE personality than the children of this family, with the exception of Bill Baldwin. The two twin siblings are more like twin idiots, and the reverend is the king deadhead.I,d sooner get
last rites from a wino on the bowery,P.S,what can you say about the fourth sibling?Jeff
This was a great show. I loved the backstabbing and hustling on the show. The acting was great, the story was great, and it's a shame it didn't survive, which I blame on the writers strike!
Awful. The pilot is a series of contrived scenes cut and pasted together.
None of the characters are believable, and Peter Krause's character
comes across as a distant observer to the train wreck that is this show.
