A struggling writer unlocks the full potential of his brain by taking a cutting-edge pharmaceutical, only to find that his newfound abilities have made him a target for some of the most greedy and dangerous men on the planet. Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) is an author without a novel. No matter how hard he tries, he just can't summon the inspiration to write a single word. That all changes when an old friend wanders back into Eddie's life, and opens his eyes to a powerful new drug called NZT. The moment Eddie takes NZT, his brain begins functioning at 100 percent, giving him the ability to quickly recall every event in his life down to the smallest detail, learn new languages in a flash, and harness the untapped power of complex mathematical equations. But when Eddie's supply of NZT runs out, the party is over. Of course, it doesn't take Eddie long to make a mint on Wall Street, and when he does, it draws the attention of Carl Van Loon (Robert De Niro), one of the world's most powerful and prominent businessmen. With Eddie's help, Carl plots to arbitrate a complex corporate merger that will shake the establishment to its very core. Just as the deal is about to be brokered, however, some dangerous characters discover Eddie's secret and come gunning for his dwindling supply of medicine. Now, if Eddie can just endure the debilitating side effects of NZT long enough to run for his life, he may just survive to see another day. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

great original story line almost seems like something that could be real in the nearby future. Of course Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro did an awesome job. Not a dull moment.

One of those Hollywood movies with a moral and a purpose. To try to get you to think and get the most out of life and all that. I'd say I've seen similar themes a million plus one times in my life but I liked this movie anyway. It's one of those where you can't ask too many questions or be too critical, because there's unanswered stuff, but if you suspend disbelief and get into the story, it's very good and I found it quite compelling. I've also never understood hardcore addiction before, and this movie gave me a pretty good feel for how dependent on a pill you can possibly become. It gave me a kind of Ferris Bueller & Dead Poets Society meets TS Garp & Jason Bourne with a twist of Cider House Rules vibe. I found it to be face paced and thought provoking if not very believable. Bradley Cooper is very good, DeNiro not so much. Would recommend for rent, as it was certainly entertaining, maybe put it in the 25's to 50's on your list. Oh, and I loved seeing Bruce Lee, that was great!! B

This movie was pretty cool. However, I would've rated it a R. Only because they show you that you can outsmart drugs and that they can help you be a success. We all know it doesn't work that way. Really well done and very entertaining.

One of my all time favorite movies!! I was almost giddy by the time this movie ended and no it wasn't because of how hot Bradley Cooper was! The script and premise were so original, fresh and ingenious that they are deserving of great accolades. It was VERY well acted by Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. Abbie Cornish, however, fell flat as the dull Lindy-the baffling choice for the hearts' desire of Bradley's Eddie Mora. Could someone PLEASE get this girl some acting lessons!! The casting of Lindy was the only ch*nk in Limitless' flawless armor. If you like non-stop, edge-of-your-seat action and unpredictable twists and turns, this is the movie for you. I'll DEFINITELY be adding this to my permanent library and I hope they find a way to make a sequel to this movie.

Well i guess its what the public wants and thinks it is good cinema these days... hard to believe the average movie fan is so easily entertained. Drugs can only be a downfall the film showed it's addiction as a glamorous trip. Too weird and ridiculous premise..and don't know how people say great and awesome! There is something really wrong with these people that like this c++.p 1 star...for Bradley he's hot! :-)
