Hair is the only thing two people have in common before they come into each other's lives in this independent comedy-drama. For thirty years, Arthur Leroldi (John Ratzenberger) has operated a barbershop with his business partner Enzo. Arthur is a fine barber, but Enzo is the member of the team with the business sense and a talent for charming people, so when Enzo suddenly dies, Arthur soon finds himself flirting with bankruptcy. As Arthur scrambles to pay his bills, his landlord Jacobi (Amos Glick) would love nothing more than to move a higher paying tenant into his place. Arthur advertises for a new barber to help him run the shop, and his best applicant turns out to be Gloria (Shelly Cole); while Arthur doesn't like the idea of having a woman working in the shop, she's a licensed and experienced cosmetologist, she knows how to keep track of the books, and customers like her. Sharon may be a boon to business, but she has some serious problems of her own; her boyfriend has just left her, she has no where to live besides the trailer she's swiped from her ex, and she's just found out she's pregnant. The Village Barbershop was the first feature film from writer and director Chris Ford. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

We stumbled on this movie by accident, but are glad we did. It was sweet and completely believable. As other reviewers said, it started a little slow but before we knew it the whole family was hooked on the story and finding out what was going to happen with the characters. A definite feel-good movie that will make you smile.

Refreshingly pleasing, a good change from the big budget movie studios. Shows you don't need a lot of special effects, computerization, etc. A good human story is always best.

Dry humor but some great parts, I personally enjoyed it. Pretty down to earth and real yet di not leave me depressed and angery lol. No really it is a good movie with some good actors, and some interesting twists. Type cast the characters and that is part of the fun, dumber than dirt truck driver...lol see I am still laughing!

Sometimes the troubled related to others who are also troubled. This is a movie about people who get their act together. And that's what we all want to do. Right? See it.

This was a very likable movie with good character develoopment. The actors did a good job in their parts. After much frustration for the characters during the movie, the ending was a happy one for all. A feel-good movie.

Good movie; I enjoyed the humor, with a bit of romance and drama. I recommend this movie and would watch it again. Unless you want gore, silliness and lots of car chases, etc, you should enjoy this one.

A little slow moving. But it contains a lot of life's lessons.
