The fourth installment of the highly successful Bourne series sees the return of the franchise's screenwriter, Tony Gilroy, this time stepping into the director's seat for an entry which sidelines main character Jason Bourne in order to focus on a fellow estranged assassin (Jeremy Renner). Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz co-star, with Joan Allen and Albert Finney reprising their roles from the previous films. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi
I enjoyed this movie as much as all the previous Bourne pictures. I do not understand why it got so much critical reviews when it come out. The action sequences were very well done. Jeremy Renner and Rachael Weisz were very good.
poor "copy" of the originals; nothing special here. the shine is definitely off the bourne series and there probably won't be another one after this (at least not with this guy). if you're a bourne fan with nothing else going on, watch it, but don't expect much. at least it was better than the expendables 2 (but that ain't saying much ;)
What a ripoff of the Bourne franchise.
The first 30 minutes were a complete mismash of scenes impossible to follow. There was hardly any action and a very very very long chase scene done badly. The acting was amateur night, and the ending terrible.
No more sequels for me of this trash.

It's watchable, but doesn't have enough sense of character or purpose to make us care about anything that happens. It's not Renner's fault the script is a heap of dung. The Bourne Legacy falters a little bit and it's really just an effort to keep a lucrative franchise alive without its iconic star, but it still seems to have plenty of life left in it.
