Christie's Revenge (2007)
Member Rating:
A disturned nineteen year old girl sets out to take revenge on the uncle she deems responsible for her father's recent suicide in this thriller from prolific Perfect Marriage director Douglas Jackson. Christie Coleman (Dani Kind)'s father is gone, and now the directionless teen will be forced to find her own way in a cruel and uncaring world. But Christie won't have to wander aimlessly for long, because now she's crafter a plan to make her Uncle Ray pay for the transgressions that drove her dad to suicide. Innocently moving in with Ray, his wife Miranda (Cynthia Gibb), and their teenage daughter Haley, Christie gradually ingratiates herself with the family while setting into motion a diabolical plan. They say we only hurt the ones we love, and in Christie's case that sentiment couldn't ring any truer. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

It appears that Lionsgate is branching out from horror and slasher films to suspense and thriller films. Too bad they didn't get any films with good stories or good actors. I couldn't last 15 minutes into this one. Before the movie started, there were previews for 5 other similar movies likely to be released in the future, and none of them looked any better. Don't waste your time with this one, unless you're planning on torturing a captive or something.

between the cover (which is a decent rip-off of Hard Candy) & the fact that it was billed as 'Unrated', i kinda expected a little more than a made-for-tv Lifetime film (which is EXACTLY what this move was...)

It wasn't the best movie but the storyline was pretty good and some of the actors were familiar. I would recommend renting it if you like suspenseful movies. It kind of reminds me of a lifetime movie.

good thing i have a movie pass at my local BB store.. as soon as i put these kind of movies in and see it come up in fake-widescreen, non-surround (2 channel stereo), and crap acting with actors pulled up off the street..it is out of the DVD player within 2 minutes and I go right back to the store to swap it out. I really wish BB would separate these movies out from all the "normal" movies...Like a cheap-quality crap section this belongs in.. These movies are a disgrace to put on a nice in-home movie entertainment center.

I felt like I was watching a "thriller" movie from Lifetime, only not as good. I rented this movie because Lionsgate is suposed to be really good at thriller movies(Saw). I was highly disapointed.

I must say, when I turned this movie on I did not expect much out of it. Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The movie does not build the story much, you have to kind of figure it out for yourself, but once you do that, it plays out perfectly, as a nice revenge plot. Who ever wrote this movie definitely came up with an elaborate scheme to get back at Uncle Ray. The ending was also pretty nice and not as typical as one would have expected. One thing I did not like, you have to kind of stick with it as the movie can be slow at times, but other than that a decent movie. It is not one I would have paid to see in the theaters, but I would say worth a rental.

This movie was certainly not the best, made for tv, lifetime movie, but entertaining enough to fill a boring afternoon for me.

I could get over the first two minutes, then on top of that it was not even widescreen. I ejected this one for sure.

Bad acting. Don't bother. Save your money and wait for it on the Lifetime channel.

Started a little slow but the plot got better as the movie progressed. More along the lines of a Lifetime Movie but interesting none the less.
