Watching "The Art of Travel" was analogous to viewing the art of life. It begins slow, but then builds momentum as the main character gains experience by living, instead of watching, life go by. As the movie progresses there are beautiful landscapes interlaced with some great action - which was a happy surprise. I knew the movie was "working" when I found myself forgetting that I was just watching a good comedy/drama with action flick. I would have changed the ending, and I think many others will agree with this assessment. While humorous, the ending lacked the sizzle and pop that was expected. It did however leave itself wide open to a sequel. If this pans out then, hopefully the next one will end with more crackle, and less plop. All in all, I gave the movie such a high rating due to a good script reinforced with great acting performances. In short, it was a very good movie in which a better ending, probably for times sake, was tragically dropped to the cutting room floor.

I love how this film begins! I’m not going to spoil it. But I honestly think the opening is reason enough to buy the film. It has the oldest brother from Malcolm in the Middle – I think this movie is a really strong fit for him. The whole movie gave the travel bug. I’ve always wanted to explore those areas of South America. This film totally brings the whole continent to life. It is one non stop adventure which makes you want to get out into the world and explore what it has to offer. A truly inspirational adventure!

Some nice scenery although it is limited to South America. I was expecting it to pick up and see some more locations but that never happened. The acting was alright, however, I thought the girl who was supposed to be from the Czech Republic sounded like she was from South America most of the time. My girlfriend is from CZ and she thought the same as well. More of a made for tv movie that one might find on the Hallmark Channel sans some nudity and language that did nothing to bolster the weak plost.

Classic beginning and story that makes you want to pack up and hit the trail. I highly recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure.

The art of Travel was one of those movies that you would probably think of not watching at first sight, but I say, "CHECK IT OUT"! I was not expecting much from it only to find out I really appreciate the story. The guy got handed a lemon and he made lemonaide. I totally cracked up at the ending as some may not have. I thought it was a really feel good movie that makes you expect a twist or something and then it steers you in a whole other direction. Good show indeed and fair. Enjoy!

Disappointing amateurish and embarrassing. Don't rent it, even for the scenery. You can get just as good or better scenery from a 30 min Samantha Brown travel Latin America episode

I took a chance on this film based on the plot summary, as I generally enjoy films about travel. I was sorely disappointed. The production quality, acting, plot, and script of this film all suggest that it was made by amateurs. There were maybe 2 or 3 moderately entertaining moments, but overall I found it boring, unconvincing, and silly. I want my two hours back. Not recommended.
