Six of the world's most talented graphic artists and animators come together to breathe vivid life into their greatest nightmares in this animated horror omnibus featuring the work of Blutch, Charles Burns, Marie Caillou, Pierre di Sciullo, Lorenzo Mattotti, and Richard McGuire. Inspired by the creeping shadows that lurk in the darkest depths of each artist's psyche, this monochromatic meditation on the things that make us wake up screaming aims to recreate the atmosphere and mood of an actual nightmare. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Amazing, complex, and highly accomplished animation in a variety of styles.
The stories are wafer thin devices to showcase the art. Think visual poetry.
Not for everyone.
Put in on in the background at a party on a high def tv while you blast your tasteful art rock. It's art plain and simple. Frustratingly shocked full of prose. I didn't hate it but it's simply an art piece.
I thought this was interesting. The specific black and white art is amazing. The artists are very talented. I admit the fact that the story is confusing but if you keep in mind it is Artsy, and simply enjoy the various talents involved, you will probably get a lot more out of it.
artsy fartsy. was fun to watch, and the animation was cool but it was a little slow. i would reccomend this movie though. and if you don't like subtitles being in a movie, than you shouldn't be allowed to watch movies.
The movie is kind of like a modern artist, who convinces some semi-intelligent audience that they have some kind of unique talent.
We are supposed to admire it because it brings together more animated gore by putting 6 graphic artists together.
In short, a slasher might like this movie.
The slasher fan probably hasn't seen animated gore. And thus, may love it.
This is the only value that the film might have. Otherwise, don't waste your time.
