I saw this years ago, when it ran as a mini series on TV, and remembered it as being very good. I was wrong. It is excellent! The acting superb, ditto for the writing and the production values as well. To use a cliche: they just don't make them like this anymore. And, more's the pity. Rent the whole series, and give up the trash TV for a while. You won;t be sorry.

This movie is one of the greatest movies ever made. This movie depicts life during the war years of ww2 and the causes and effects. I saw it in my freshman year of high school and it still has left an impact even now as a 41yr old.

One of the best, if not the best , TV miniseries ever made. From the great acting and writing to the great cast and locations, history comes alive.

The Winds of War is a classic among the Mini series epics. I enjoyed the winds of war then and now. Ralph Bellamy an exellent Rosevelt as does Robert Mitchum as Pug. Great cast all around, indeed.

My wife and I love this movie, taped it on VHS and am thinking of getting it on DVD. Even though it is over 20 years old, it is a great movie.

This was the greatest World War II saga I've ever seen. Nothing is left out including such characters as Churchill, Stalin, Hitler and Roosevelt. Herman Wouk is really the our Tolstoy who created America's War and Peace.
