Typical teenager Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) embraces his incredible destiny after uncovering one of his father's most carefully guarded secrets as Columbia Pictures reboots the Spider-Man franchise with the help of director Mark Webb ((500) Days of Summer) and screenwriter James Vanderbilt (Zodiac). Sally Field, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, and Emma Stone co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
It was a good movie. Not great but good. The scene that I found with no sense at all was when Lizard man tried to grab Spiderman's hand so he won't fall from the building. He could just stick to the wall and crawl back up like the Spiderman that he is. Other than that it was fun to watch.
Why did the make this movie after the same exact storyline was doen a few years ago. Chalk it up to greed. This was not a very good movie. The previous version with the same storyline was way better. Dont bother renting this
this was really awful and makes you appreciate what an awesome job they did on the original movie with Toby Maguire. In the original, Peter Parker is likeable nerd and there are plenty of colorful characters like Jonah Jameson played brilliantly by JK Simmons that add a lot of color and flavor to the movie.
In this version Spidey is a snarky little punk, making him both unlikeable and unbelievable. the supporting actors, despite some big names, are stale and predictable. Pure Hollywood garbage but I can see the appeal for angry teenagers, Spidey is the dude with the tude
I recently viewed this dvd again on April 20th 2013, and enjoyed watching it and a totally different perspective. The first time I watch it, last year I guess I was not in the mood for Batman or not feeling good, so I apologized for odd review, I have deleted it.
Kind of a surprise as to the dark and serious nature of the film. Enjoyed all of the actors especially Andrew Garfield as a unique and different kind of Spider-man... Of course it is Spider-man and not anything of redeeming value...but I found it very entertaining. This will be a good rent...
Bad special effects, bad dialog, bad acting, bad movie. Too bad, I was really looking forward to this movie. No wonder The Avengers didn't invite Spider Man to their movie. He would've ruined it!
This was a great re-boot, it really set itself apart from the Sam Raimi trilogy. The cast was perfect, the acting was believable, and the action sequences were amazing, This was a real Spider-Man movie!! This movie focused around the characters and not so much the love story like the original 3. If you are a fan of the comics or not, this movie is really worth the watch.
I have to say that this new version is a lot more serious than the older ones. The old ones were just plain cheesy. This one was intense, believable, and very much in touch with the struggles one would experience having lost the ones he loves and the resulting anger.
I watched it in 3D and it was great, but it is not one of those movies that depends on being 3D. Awesome and convincing action and actors!
Movie was good. Believable but some scenes didn't make any sense. Since when does Spidey need help swing around to get to a destination. He lives in downtown Manhattan. Buildings are everywehere. He doesn't need help from construction workers to get around. Bah!!! Besides that it was a good movie
