Soooooo depressing! The trailer leads one to believe that this is going to be an action packed story. It is anything but. The story, while beautiful and sad, moves across the screen ever so slowly. The future looks dark, dirty, bleak, cold, aggressive, dangerous, hopeless and lonely. i kind of felt this way after watching this movie last night.

As depressing as it was, it was powerful in it's message. Very sad and dark from start to end...with that said, prepare for it.

Fantastic acting, compelling and dangerous storyline, and a terrifying post-apocalyptic world. Some parts will seem dull, but you can't overlook the overpowering feeling of loneliness and heartbreak you will feel throughout.

This movie is one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen. I hate to give it a low rating, because it is well done, and does a good job of making you feel the desolation and hopelessness of the world it is set in. But, I like to watch movies that make you feel good, or inspired, or at least a little better when it's over than when you sat down to start it. This movie is just dark and unnnerving, and bleak. And even though the ending is not complete tragedy, it certainly is not what I would call a happy ending. You just end the film pretty much the same way you start it, hoping the circumstances will resolve into something good. But they don't, you just end still looking around the next bend for the light at the end of the road.

I was prepared for tragic. I know who Cormac McCarthy is. But this was one of those films that lacked any semblence of a climax until the end. I have not read this book, but my feeling is the "happy ending" was forced by the producers who thought the real ending was too sad. I could be wrong but hey it just didn't fit the rest of the movie. Anyway I watched it and although well written and well acted I just can't give it a higher rating.

This movie was sad and interesting, but it really could have used some more action or at least more flashbacks to explain in detail how their world got the way it was. I found it interesting however that as soon as you feel hope for the characters, it's ripped out from under you leaving you yelling at the screen.

Great movie! The end was pretty hard hitting emotionally. They really pulled of the landscape and other settings. Excellent!

I am reading these rave reviews based upon a trailer that I saw. As of today, May 14th, 2010- site says "coming soon buy download 5/25/2010" Did everyone here view the film at the cannes film festival, or was it initially released overseas? Hollywood Preview?

All you fathers out there, rent this movie and take notes! With how Obama is running this country into economic collapse, this movie will probably become a true story! Except the cannibals will all be illegal immigrants!
