Director Sacha Gervasi adapts Stephen Rebello's book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho to explore the relationship between the legendary British director (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife Alma Reville (Helen Mirren), who played a crucial behind-the-scenes role in the making of her husband's terrifying 1960 classic Psycho. Scarlett Johansson co-stars as Janet Leigh and James D'Arcy portrays Anthony Perkins in a film also featuring Jessica Biel, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, and Ralph Macchio. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A great story of the making of the Hitchcock Psycho movie. Anthony Hopkins was excellent in the part sounded so much like Hitchcock's voice. Helen Mirren, such an excellent actress was great in her part. I recommend this movie.

A Spectacular performance by Hopkins Mirren and Johansson. Grade A. I have seen all of Hitchcock's movies. This was a fitting tribute to the master of suspense

Good acting by both Hopkins and Mirren and all but I thought the movie was kind of flat. The script perhaps...

A very interesting movie with an excellent cast. No one could have pulled off this part better than Hopkins. Hitchcock was an unusual character but indeed a real talent. Enjoyed this tribute to Hitchcock and the informative view of his dedicated wife. Very good especially if you are a fan of Hitch movies...

Growing up we watched all of Alfred Hitchcock's movies and enjoyed them even in black and white. This movie only made me think less of Hitchcock for what he did to this actress because he could. Yes, she could have left and gone elsewhere, but he was so well known he told her he would make it so she would never get another acting job and I believe it. 3/13/13

I love Anthony Hopkins, but I had trouble seeing him as Alfred Hitchcock. While he had the figure and the posture of Hitch, as well as the voice, he had too much of a baby face. Interesting to see how Hitch and Alma's relationship played out against the background of the Psycho filming. I thought Helen Mirren did an excellent job as Alma, though she didn't resemble her at all, according to a photo in a Hitchcock biography.
