Judd Apatow teams up with his former roommate Adam Sandler to write a star comedy vehicle for the actor in You Don't Mess With the Zohan, the tale of an Israeli commando who fakes his own death so he can follow his dream -- to be a hairstylist in New York City. I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry's Dennis Dugan directs for Happy Madison Productions and Columbia Pictures. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi
This is a waste of what could have been a decent movie. Far too many of the jokes and gags were of 8th grade, bathroom humor variety. The small bit of that which was not of that variety of what might have been humor kept being repeated as if perhaps the audience didn't get it on not the second or third time but perhaps the fifth or sixth time.
If Apatow and Sandler wrote this, they should be ashamed of themselves, unless the movie was targeted to eleven and twelve year old boys.
Was this supposed to be a comedy? I so, I didn't get the memo. This movie should be called "Don't bother watching the Zohan". I only tolerated 15 minutes of the waste of time and will donate it to the library. I shouldn't have been surprised that this movie would be wretched since Sandler is and has always been overrated. I never thought he was funny on SNL and he is junior high schoolish in this dimwit movie. Besides this insult to my eyeballs movie, I watched and surprisingly like Click. Zohan stinks worst than rotting potatoes.
