Exiled to Earth after his arrogance fans the flames of an ancient conflict, The Mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) of Asgard discovers the meaning of humility when a powerful old foe dispatches a destructive force to crush humanity. Only when the banished prince has defeated an opponent capable of crushing him in battle will he learn what it takes to be a true leader. Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgård, and Tadanobu Asano co-star in a comic-book adventure from acclaimed director Kenneth Branagh. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Director Kenneth Branagh, actually pulled off putting together the absolute best Comic Book to Hollywood Big Screen Action Film of any released to date [5-14-2011], capturing the look, feel, and essence of the original Marvel Publications series. Everyone does a fine job, and IMAX 3D only serves to augment the experience to grandiose proportions. As "Stan The Man" used to say, "Excellsior!" GBJ
Full of action & special effects, it does sci-fi proud. If you are looking for entertainment you have found it, if you're looking for deep meaning pick something else. I especially enjoyed seeing this one in 3D.
This was a great movie, a whole lot better than I thought it was going to be. Even if you aren't a fan of the marvel movies, anyone will love ths movie.
As Marvel fan I thought this was pretty good. Much better than I was anticipating. It would help to know a little about Norse mythology before going into the film though.
Thor was the one avenger movie I have been looking forward to this year and it did not disappoint. As far as the movie itself goes I would have to say that it is not an Iron Man but it is right up there with the second one and way better than both Hulk movies. Well worth a watch or two as I plan on seeing it again.
Thor is such a badas$! When there was action it was awesome! Unfortunately, most of the movie was slow.Felt like it lacked something, probably depth. Could have been a lot better.
This movie was good. The reason I did not rate this a four star was because the acting wasn't really convincing, but enough to enjoy the story.
I did enjoy the content, very original. I'm no Thor fan so it was all new to me. The robot was cool and there was a lot of footage of its destruction. The battles were pretty awsome, and fullfilled that desire to see power in action.
Some of the magic parts were a bit too much for me, and seemed aimed at a less mature audience. Thor can fly...enough said.
Thor is the thunder god, but he used a tornado, which is WIND, to destroy the big robot. One of the things which insulted my intelligence.
But overall, I liked it.
for seeing up to my un expectations, I love this movie, because it;s funny, action packed, cool. Thor isn't the best, hero, but tom hiddleston stole the show
