A terminally-ill con man and his estranged son endeavor to live on $5 a day during a cross country drive in this road trip comedy from director Nigel Cole (Saving Grace, Calendar Girls). Nat (Christopher Walken) may be a great con man, but as a father to Flynn (Alessandro Nivola) he always came up short. Informed by his doctor that he's suffering from a terminal illness, Nat learns of an experimental treatment that could offer him a second chance at life. But that's all the way on the other side of the country, and in order to make the drive he'll need a wheelman. Enter Flynn: the son Nat never really knew. Despite the bitterness Flynn feels toward his ailing father, he eventually agrees to take the trip. Unfortunately money is tight these days, and if Nat and Flynn hope to reach their destination without coming up short, they'll have to meet the sizable challenge of living on just $5 a day. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I just watched this today and I loved it! It's a real sweet little film. Mr Walken is just so much fun to watch in any movie. Sharon Stone is great too!
Christopher Walken is always great. Sharon stone was excellent, too.
Upbeat, interesting characters, enjoyable, but, a little slow at times. An independent film feel; that's much better than most movies, for sure.
If you are tired of Comic Book Movies and like an actual plot in your movies, then this movie is for you. Great acting and lots of good humor and wit. A movie that doesn't make you feel you want 2 hours of your life back. LOVED IT!
This movie is fun, sweet, and touching. Walken plays this carefree old guy that makes a living by ripping off businesses. His cross-country trip is full of adventure and surprises. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Man is Sharon Stone HOT!!! Average movie, If you take out Christopher Walker however, this woulda sucked. Wish Amanda Peet had a bigger role, she's hot too.
This was an awesome film. I think it was Christopher Walken's best role. He was believable and it kept us hanging on from scene-to-scene. The writing was fresh and crisp. We laughed so hard that at times we had to stop the film and rewind it. Sharon Stone was outstanding as a seductress. Not many actresses could pull off what she did. Alessandro Nivola was teriffic as Walken's son. I was having a bad day; watching this movie turned everything around for me. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Rent it. You won't regret it! --Gr8FindsOnline
This should have been better given the cast. Peet was good. Stone's short part (aging, but not done yet, hustler) was beautifuly done & she looked spectacular in her overdone tan, really hit the nail on the head. Walken was good in his part, but he's missing that bubbling upbeat intensity that we look forward to. Alessandro Nivola was the wet blanket, he just wasn't quite right and the director just couldn't give it the life it needed. The movie was a resounding dud. Could have been great.
