On the heels of a successful debut at the Celebration Theatre in Los Angeles and an impressive eight-year run on the New York stage, the raucous musical showered with accolades by both LA Weekly and Backstage West -- and featuring show-stopping tunes by Bruce Vilanch, Shelley Markham, Stephen Bates, Robert Schrock, and Mark Winkler -- can finally be enjoyed by theater fans who may not have had the opportunity to catch it in person. Everyone knows that nudity is only natural, and as an impressive cast of actors, singers, and dancers including Kevin Stea, Jason Currie, Phong Truong, Joseph Keane, Andrew Blake, Anthony Manough, and original cast member Vincent Zamora drop their drawers to perform such sings as "Fight the Urge," "Nothin' But the Radio On," and "Robert Mitchum," home viewers can finally find out firsthand what all the fuss and fun is about. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I LOVED these Naked Boys Singing. And it is what it says it is - truth in advertising here. I didn't love this though just because of their obvious...credentials.. as it wasn't all about being naked - more it was about being who you are - letting yourself be vulnerable inside as well as outwardly. Most of the songs were totally entertaining - quite cheeky really. ; -) Clever and funny and touching and brave & I'll be humming, "Nothing on but the Radio" for days to come. Bravo boyz

Delivers what the title promises. Wow, Blockbuster, you surprise me! But this is very much a bone thrown to older gay gentlemen, or musically infatuated hags. For today's gays this musical doesn't have enough of a message to rise above its gimmick.

this was an o.k. movie but I was not expecting a musical review! It was refreshing in that it showed the full' monty!' It seems most gay films are coy to show this part of our anatomy --why?a gets me!

Very cute! Have seen the NY company often and this is a very good representation of a clever and entertaining show. I DO feel it's better "in person". But for those that can't see a live show, this will be fun. PS It is SO not a "porn" movie!

Worth it for three numbers: "I'm A Perky Little Porn Star", "The Naked Maid" and "Nothin' But The Radio On".

There we some funny moments in this version and they did a pretty good job but it is not as good as the stage play in NYC. Also they featured only "pretty muscle boys" whereas the stage play had men of all sizes & shapes and ages. As in the stage play, you see the character and not their naked bodies.

I know... I know... with a title like "Naked Boys Singing," what did you want? Did you get naked boys? "ummmm yeah" Were they singing? "ummm yeah" Then what's wrong with it? " What's wrong with it is that the songs are downright annoying and the whole presentation places gays in that "stereotypical" box that we love to keep ourselves in for some reason. I was hoping for a little "at skin level we are all the same" sorta deal, I guess. I might have liked a representation of real people and not just club kids. I dunno what I wanted for sure, but it SURELY wasn't that. Most of them are cute. All of them are naked. All of them can sing. If that is all you want, get this movie. You'll be thrilled. In the films defense, that is all that is promised. I just hated it, couldn't finish the film. After the first 45 seconds, the mystery is spoiled and you are left with Naked Boys Singing... and singing... and singing...

It's a musical show which doesn't have a plot or characters, and it doesn't really tell any story. It's just a set of several songs, performed on stage by a group of naked young men. There's also a chearing, clapping, and laughing audience in the theater. The authors clame that the show is about being nude and vulnerable, but it is also, and mosly, about being a jewish gay man. There are about a dozen songs in the show, with about a third of them being quite entertaining. The naked performance makes the humorous songs the most appropriate for the setting, but I found the creators' attempt to be serious and talk about true love etc. to be plain boring.
