Heroes: Season 02 (2007)
Member Rating:
In Season 2 of the superhero saga, the nascent heroes learn more about their similarly superpowered families and ancestors. Indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere) and her family are forced to go into hiding in California in order to escape the clutches of the Company, an organization that tracks and captures superheroes. While her father, Noah (Jack Coleman), a former employee of the Company, insists she not do anything to attract attention, Claire finds herself attracted to a fellow student (Nicholas D'Agosto) with a superpowered secret of his own. After barely managing to avert a nuclear explosion in Season 1's finale, Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) is presumed dead by his grieving family, only to awaken in Ireland with no idea who he is or how he got there. Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) accidentally time travels to 17th-century feudal Japan, where he encounters his childhood hero, the legendary swordsman Takezo Kensei. But Hiro's joy is short-lived: He discovers that not only is Kensei a white foreigner (David Anders) living in Japan, but he's also a drunken coward who needs Hiro's help in order to achieve his destiny. Hiro eventually returns to the present and learns his father (George Takei) has been killed, the first in a series of murders of superheroes who had been active a generation ago. As the murders continue, it becomes clear that this killing spree is an act of revenge connected to a deadly virus that could spell disaster for humanity. In addition to this threat, the heroes must also deal with the return of superpowered serial killer Sylar (Zachary Quinto) and the arrival of a new villain (Kristen Bell), a mentally unstable agent of the Company with the ability to control lightning and electricity. ~ Jack Rodgers, Rovi

The second season of Heroes was a bit of a disappointment. If focused too much on Claire and not enough on Hiro Peter and Nathan. The story arc with Claire and her high school boyfriend was more like Knots Landing than a solid sci fi drama that viewers expected after Season One. I definitely won't be buying Season Two on DVD a complete and utter disappointment.

From the first episode of season one I was hooked on this show. I just finished watching disk 3 of season 2 and I'm still just as hooked; even more-so. This is one of the best Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Action/Drama shows ever created and if you don't have unrealistic expectations and can understand that a second season of any show is never going to have the same kind of "newness" that it had in its first season or; that it takes a few episodes of the second season to lay the ground work for a new story line, then you will not be disappointed with Heroes.

The last couple episodes of Season 1 where the beginning of the end of this fast-rising show. Season 2 continues the slide into mediocrity.

The second season possess more lulls in the action in the initial few episodes. Hiro's jump back into time lasting over 7 or 8 episodes to futile Japan seems relatively unnecessary and drawn out, even though the Kensei character was established to have a role in the modern day time. There was certainly too much focus on Clair's personal life, but I believe that was intentional to establish the overall feel of this season. All things considered, the show is still positively phenominal, but this second season is not quite living up to billing of the first season. The first season introduced the brand new concepts and established the characters while keeping most of it under a shroud of mystery until the few concluding episodes. This second season delves into whole new plots and storylines, but the mystery and newness is lessened. It's still very good, though.

This is for Blockbuster. I wash shipped three disc for Heros the series. I was sent Disc 1 and Disc 2 and Lastly Disc 2 I have not received Disc 3 nor Disc 4, I know that mistakes happen so I just wanted to advised Blockbuster so that I might receive Disc 3 before I receive Disc 4.
