Three Amigos! (1986)
Member Rating:
This slapstick farce features Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase), Lucky Day (Steve Martin), and Ned Nederlander (Martin Short), as three silent movie cowboy stars who get the axe from their Hollywood studio. Just at that opportune moment, a woman named Carmen (Patrice Martinez) asks them to come to her forgotten little town south of the border and do some work for her, for a tidy sum. The three "stooges" agree, thinking they are going to perform their singing cowboy routine, but instead Carmen wants them to get rid of the nasty El Guapo (Alfonso Arau) who is running roughshod over the good citizens of the town. Not the kind of heroes they appear to be in the movies, they have a difficult time helping out the distressed townsfolk. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

These three actors represent some of the funniest moments in cinematic history, and here they are gathered together to make a film. I loved this movie. I loved the absurdity, the randomness, and the sheer fun of these types of films. I miss this type of physical, pseudo-intellectual humor. I miss laughing as much as I did when I first watched this film, and when I watch it over and over again. The simplistic nature of this film allows it to be enjoyed at any time during your life. Martin, Short, and Chase are at the top of their game and never let go. It is sad to see these actors getting less and less work today. Overall, this film impressed me. It is funny, enjoyable, and so silly that you don’t need to wade through the bathroom humor to get to the good stuff. It is all right there. I suggest this film to anyone that is looking to laugh and be entertained!

if you haven't seen three amigos (or haven't seen it in years) go ahead and rent it. Plot is stupid - but some of the best one liners of all time stem from this movie (e.g, lip balm?) definitely worth your time and guaranteed to give you a laugh or two (up here, up here, look up here) Not an epic movie- just one to make you smile.

Not only does it have good slapstick, it also contains some hilarious references if you pay attention to some of the more subtle details (especially in Spanish).

No other trio can compare to that of Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. They're three funny guys who worked well together, and it would be awesome to seem the trio reunite and do another movie together whether it's a follow-up or just something in particular.

This movie is one of my all-time favorites! But If you saw it on cable or tv, you missed some of the funniest jokes! You see, I don't know why, but they only played the "G" version - not that they say any bad words or anything, it's just that they don't say the word b a l l s - Can you believe it? Even this review doesn't let me put that word! Anyway, if you've never seen it you HAVE TO SEE IT! It's a reall classic!

What an unfunny piece of GARBAGE this turned out to be ! Steve Martin has made some of the worst movies I have ever seen. Even Chevy Chase couldn't save this disaster !!
