Member Rating:
An ambitious sci-fier from the Disney folks, The Black Hole takes place in the future. A quintet of space travelers stumble across a "black hole." Not wishing to be sucked into the void, the crew prepares to flee, but stops long enough to investigate a mysterious space vessel near the entrance of the hole. Manning this craft is mad scientist Dr. Hans Reinhardt (Maximillian Schell), who intends to explore the black hole in hopes of finding the universe's energy source. The cast includes Anthony Perkins, Robert Forster, Yvette Mimieux, and others. The Black Hole marked one of the Disney company's first PG-rated films. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This was one of my favorite movies when I was growing up. It seemed so strange when it was first released in the theaters because it was so different, so dark, from Disneys other movies. The trailers were all really dark and spooky. Oh, and I think the spaceship models look more real than the stupid CGI anyday. Hahaha. ;-) Seriously a good movie and a must-have for any sci-fi buffs collection. Thats just my take on things.

A great score and some special effects that hold up pretty well make this movie a must see for sci-fi fans. I found the robots amusing, the action exciting, and everything else that makes a space opera worth seeing.

This movie was boring when I first saw it as a kid in the theater, and it is dull and uninteresting now as an adult. The plot never draws you in, you never care at all about the characters, and the tension is never resolved satisfactorily. Very talky, bad science even for the time, includes cutesy robots, and personality affect as flat as a pancake.

This film is definitely a blast from the past. Great design, cool music and who can forget the robots? A must-see for any Sci-Fi fan.

Here before you is a classic, a film years ahead of it's time with all of the special effects and action scenes. If you're into sci-fi, or even good old fassioned adventure, this is a must see movie.

Not quite as good as when I was growing up, but I still liked some parts of this movie.

This movie is a great sci-fi time capsule from the late 70's. You can definitely see the Star Wars influence. The movie is entertaining and the plot's not bad. It has a wierd ending but overall, worth watching.
