Teaserama was the second feature-film project of "girlie picture" maven Irwin Klaw. The star of the proceedings is Klaw's number-one peep-show attraction, the inimitable Bettie Page. When she's not removing her clothes and wiggling her torso, Bettie serves as the film's placard girl, heralding the other acts. These include such well-known stripteasers as Tempest Storm, Chris La Chris, Twinnie Wallen, Trudy Wayne and Cherry Knight, few of whom are in Betty's league, with the notable exception of Storm. Comedy is provided by future Car 54 Where are You star Joe E. Ross and burleycue top banana Dave Starr. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Extremely tame by today's standards, in 1955 this stuff must have been absolutely scandalous! Many of the acts in these films are not even that good, in fact some are pretty boring and others are kind of laughable - except for the comics, unfortunately which, by the way, are the only acts without canned laughter or applause. But as bad as the acts are, in most cases, this rare insight into the world of Burlesque entertainment is well worth the time. Sit back and allow yourself to be trasported back to the mid 50's. Pretty amazing how things have changed!

The opening act was the only one with Bettie Page and the best one of all. A couple of the singing acts were good. This DVD is a collection of public stage performances during the early to mid-1900's. As I was expecting more of Miss Page, I was disappointed.
