An ex-soldier (Liam Neeson) traveling through Europe embarks on a frantic quest to rescue his daughter (Maggie Grace) after the young girl is abducted by slave traders in District B13 director Pierre Morel's contemporary thriller Taken. Robert Mark Kamen joins the screenwriting team, which also includes Morel and longtime collaborator Luc Besson, who also produces. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
This was a good one for sure. Liam Neeson's character as father shows him as both the most aggravating and nightmarish of dads - and the awesome best. Really a fun but violent ride on the road to rescue and revenge. Best of this genre in awhile - better than "Payback," "A History of Violence," and "Straw Dogs," among others. Are there guys who really can know and do all this ...? While this is not an 007 type flick, Neeson's character makes Bond seem like a sophomore trainee!
What a great film! Liam Nesson is one of my favorite actors, so I'm a little bias, but really this film is great drama, action, and suspense. A definite watch if you like what family would do to save their kids, nonstop action that will keep you on the edge of seat, and Liam who has "a very unique set of skills" (my favorite line)!
