Modern science provides us with a fascinating glimpse into the ancient world as researchers and archeologists explore the mysteries of the Egyptian mummies. By reconstructing DNA gathered from the pharaohs, contemporary scientists may be able to learn more about human genetics and develop innovative medical treatments for deadly diseases. I was impressed by the eye-popping photography, which is the best part of this documentary. There were some minor discrepencies that were not accurate but overall, the story was well told by actor, Christopher Lee; always impressive as a narrator. I thought the FX "updating" of ancient sites was hokey and the "back in time" sequences were downright comical; especially the costumes. Overall, a good generic- IMAX type documentary for those interested in ancient Egypt, but there are more authentic versions in your library, or for rent on BB. Seek them out and you may learn more than you will from this version.
