21 out of 22 people found this review helpful As an avid festival movie watcher, I am constantly taking a chance. One or two out of every ten films are worth renting. This one is a keeper, I usually figure movies out within the first 5 min, but for the life of me I didn't expect the ending. Take a chance and watch this one. It is clever and funny. The script is written well, and the the actors are solid and natural. I am looking forward to seeing more form this team.
16 out of 16 people found this review helpful I'm not a fan of indie flicks but this was recommended to me- I really enjoyed it and laughed a lot. Not sure what else I can say but it's worth renting.
18 out of 20 people found this review helpful I co-wrote the music to this film. Obviously, I want you to rent it and enjoy it, but I'm not going to lie to trick you into watching it. What follows are my honest thoughts... "In the Dark" is part mystery/suspense, but it's too funny to fall comfortably into that category. This truly is one of those movies that defies conventional categorization. I won't bother talking about what the plot is since an adequate description will probably be on this site sooner or later. However, I will say that the plot held my attention throughout and had a nice arc to it. The actors play their roles well, definitely better than your average independent project. The dialogue is natural and reinforces some of the movie's themes. I don't know much about cinematography, the movie "looks" pretty good to me. Does it look like Lord of the Rings? No. But it doesn't look like The Blair Witch Project either. And the music...well...I think it's excellent. ;-) Anyways, that's that. I hope you enjoy it!
13 out of 13 people found this review helpful Smart, funny and surprising. I put a lot of movie on my list and don't mind if I get a bad one in the mix because it doesn't cost me any more. And every now and then I find a little film like this one. Recommended

8 out of 9 people found this review helpful Not sure what movie Edward B. saw but I doubt that it was this one. This is an entertaining little flick with a neat plot twist. Suggest the rest of you see it and that Edward get a life.
11 out of 14 people found this review helpful Finally a decent movie from LA. Sure you always see good indie films out of NY but to see something with substance come out of LA is a huge breath of fresh air. This movie has big budget balls with indie instinct and it's subtle woven storyline delivers a decent pay off. At this shizzo to "MY Q" and buy a sixer and some smart pop and party with your pants off.
0 out of 1 people found this review helpful Firs off, everyone is entitled to their opinion so this is not meant to offend anyone! I usually like indie flicks, and don't care too much for main stream blockbusters. So after reading all the great reviews I thought I'd give it a look. However this movie looked like something me and some friends could put together in a couple of days, with no film experience! The acting was not very good, the film quality was horrible, music was cheezy and too often, story was okay but very predictible. Those were the only funny things about the film! I would not recommend this movie to anyone.
0 out of 2 people found this review helpful What in the world was the movie about???? I really don't know. Crummy acting, cheap B type flick. No cc for hearing impaired. Tried to watch it and got about half way thru it till I gave up. Don't waste your time |
